Knipp voted out at Rock Hill
Word coming from the Hill tonight says Knipp was voted out by the board.
This currently seems like an unpopular decision from what I've seen. What are your thoughts?

Wow... Just Wow... Did they give a reason? Compete for the OVC and make the playoffs seems to be a very good year..

Wow, after all the years of struggle and complaining from people, he keeps his nose to the grindstone and finally breaks through with a playoff appearance and solid season, and now they vote him out.. this one is a real head scratcher to me, was Hopper voted back in for the basketball position?

From the outside, must be an underlying cause! Or maybe they want someone to take them to the next level!

I can foresee them going one of three ways with, and it involves a coach already at Rock Hill (graduated and coached at Ironton), a coach from Coal Grove (graduated from Rock Hill/also non renewed for his position), or swallow pride and give it back to Knipp.

From what I have heard things have gotten ugly on social media with multiple players saying they will not play football next year for Rock Hill, this could get messy.

Word on the street is that they hired Merrill Triplett as an assistant.

Which in my opinion is a great hire. I hate it for Coach Knipp though.

I wonder what would make dedicated football players complain...Runner00 wrote:From what I have heard things have gotten ugly on social media with multiple players saying they will not play football next year for Rock Hill, this could get messy.

Some have made that argument but the fact of the matter is, the change was not made, and now after a successful season you make it?Game day wrote:This change should have happen several years ago.
Re: Knipp voted out at Rock Hill
Yes it should have, But it didn't and now kids was with knipp 100% they believed they could win again.Game day wrote:This change should have happen several years ago.

So was he lucky when he made the playoffs the other times and won the league?Game day wrote:Even a blind dog gets lucky every once in a while.
It's not exactly like Rock Hill football has been a juggernaut historically. Even though his record wasn't great. He took them to the most success they have had.
I would have understood if they would have no voted him back when they were consistently doing poorly, but to make this move now is unfair for the kids and coaching staff. Doing things like this never work out in the long run.

I dont see them looking for someone to take them to the next level. If they had more winning seasons the last few years I would understand, but they haven't.
If players are upset over this, could Rock Hill see some players transfer or not come out next season. If that does happen it could set them back further instead of moving forward.

Other than this season and I would say in the last 5 or 6 they did not win more than 2 games a year. I even think he posted back to back 1 and 9 years. Nothing against Knipp but he should have step down 3 to 4 years ago. When you went to the games there were not even be enough people there to pay for the lights being on.
