Re: WK1 West @ Fairland
I think West has improved from last year. I am excited to see just how far they have come. Looks like they have a good size line for the most part and they have some kids that can make some plays. As far as this game goes, I'll take West by a comfortable margin.

Fairland does not have a single player that would make a difference as to if it will be ugly or not... West by as many as they want

I thought West battled well tonight. Made mistakes but that comes with youth.
Fairland has 4 or 5 guys that could play for anyone with (#1 & #4) being stars, but as a team they must be in bad physical condition. I've not seen a team have that many cramps in a long time.

This tells me one thing West is pretty bad! To have nearly lost to a Fairland team who hasn't proven to be very good as of late plus they were constantly down 3+ players due to cramps in the second half. I read the write up in the Herald Dispatch... The Coach rips the kids who aren't playing bc if they were then they would have more depth... Coach you should be ripping yourself bc your players are poorly conditioned, you aren't the only one in the area with poor numbers. Now I do believe Fairland has some decent pieces the QB, and 2 RB but after that if falls straight off. But I do see progression in the dragons from last year to now. Hopefully they can start winning some games!

The cramping must be a Lawrence co thingWestfan wrote:I thought West battled well tonight. Made mistakes but that comes with youth.

Hey Fred I think the Fisher kid was the best player on the field. Congrats to west on the win and I agree, Coach has no one but himself to blame for the conditioning of his team and the lack of participation amongst his own student body.

I agree he is a good player but he isn't going to be the reason why they win or lose a game plus that is unfair to put that on that young man! I mean think back to other individuals Fairland had that were really good but the team record wasn't real good. Examples: Michael Hill, Sam Huff, and even Fishers brother. All great talent but their teams weren't real good.
