Still not an excuse In my opinion. Logan is a division 2 football school. They have great tradition and even though they graduated a lot thu still should be healthy enough to go 5-5 . I love Logan football and that be a little harsh but just my 2 cents

If you want your program to be top notch, then you better not cut them any slack! And last years 8-2 team had quite a few 3 year starters...and you only went 8-2? the Logan football I know would've gone 9-1 or 10-0 with a team full of experienced varsity starters and made the playoffs. Just sayin'

So someone abducted all the junior and senior boys at Logan this year? C'mon, where are they? Let's ask the question why aren't more upper classmen going out for football?

Not for sure but these Sr.might have been the state of the youth that was under The old coach that wasn't going well. Our 7th thur 10th are doing well and have been under the new coach. Next year should mostly be this coach's program. Clouds should be clearing out starting 2017 with lots of sunshine.

I'm not buying that anymore. This is the 5th week of the season. They are not Sophomores, freshman or JVs anymore. The Cambridge team I saw Friday was good but not DJ good. The line play on both sides of the ball was pathetic. Me and 4 other old guys could have played that good. When the line gets blown off the ball its like the line says " oh well, whoops sorry. I missed that guy. My bad". And they seem to be content with that. There is no fire there backsides.

This is a great question. I've posted this before, but a number of players have left the program from the junior and senior classes. I'm not local anymore and my "ties" to the community are fewer and fewer, so I have no idea why 10-15 players in these two classes are in the program anymore. From what I know, only one moved out of the community.

Some of these players are guys who were playing up with the JV team as freshman, which was virtually unheard of 10-15 years ago.

The program will be in good shape next year and in the future - IF - IF - IF - the kids in the lower grades stick with the program. If these guys drop out like the junior and senior classes, we're going to see the problems repeat.

At least one of the O-Linemen who played on Friday was a freshman who had played - I'm pretty sure - exactly ONE series in the first three games. A guard had an injury and didn't dress and a freshman was "next man up."

But your overall point is right. Time for youth to stop being an excuse, even Coach Burke has said that in the LDN.

Cambridge was a disappointing game. Logan had truly made progress in the 2nd and 3rd weeks, but then reverted back pretty badly against Cambridge. The Bobcats are not a GREAT football team. Logan played sloppy and the Bobcats are good enough to make you pay. Their linebacking corps. is the best Logan will see all season, I think maybe even including DeSales (but the Stallions will be better everywhere else, and their LBs are great too).

So the big question is - was last week a setback or a return to reality? Did fair week and other distractions effect Friday night? Was a set back inevitable due to youth?

We'll find out this week in how they respond back at home.

Logan's soccer team is young (but very good). Look ahead to this basketball season. From what I have read, they will be inexperienced with mostly young players. Very few Jr & Sr players on any team. Why?

You have a class like that every few years BUT to have two classes in a row is very unusual!

Logan soccer is fairly young but very good this year correct.

I wouldn't say the basketball team is inexperienced. I would say young though. They'll have one returning starter, and the first 3 off the bench from last year will all be playing and starting. With some upper classmen coming off the bench this year.

Yes, Logan is having a down year, but that happens every once in awhile in football, when not all the players stick with the program.

This is just something that happens, you take your bumps and bruises, work hard and learn from it.

Logan just does not have the number of upper class players that can contribute like they had in the past. They do have some quality and skilled players but not enough . Lining up a freshman or sophomore ( 14 -15 year old ) against a Senior with 3years of varsity is quite a challenge . This is not an excuse but reality and the results are sometimes hard. Logan will have a couple good classes and things will settle down in time . Right now everyone will be trying to lay a Big L on the Chiefs and that's OK . Coach Burke knows how to coach and who knows they may surprise someone. Chieftain Nation has a lot of pride and a down year or 2 will happen but I for one will say go Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!
