Week 4 Win 41-29 to Meigs (2-2)

Athens (3-1, 1-0)
Week 1 Win 41-0 to Warren (1-3)
Week 2 Loss 21-14 to Canal Winchester (2-2)
Week 3 Win 31-28 to Watkins Memorial (1-3)
Week 4 Win 35-19 to Alexander (1-3)

Thoughts?

Vinton County looks to be getting better every week

Coach Downs is probably the best coaches in Southern Ohio and I look for them to keep getting better and better but I don't think they will beat Athens.

He may be one of the better coaches but I'm not quite ready to call him the best coach in southern Ohio.

How about "one of the best" lol. There are some quality area coaches for sure.

The guy wins one game and he's the best coach in the area huh? Aren't you one of those who was saying Bartrum is a great coach and "probably the best in Southeast Ohio? I remember over the summer a few people were on here saying how great they thought he was and that he would out coach everyone in the TVC. So is Bartrum now the second best coach in SEO?

Downs did lead Fed hock to the playoffs. That's a pretty good coaching accomplishment.

Oops! Typo. Obviously meant to say ONE of the best teams in Southern Ohio. One of the only coaches to take two teams to the playoffs within 5 year span... Not to mention two teams who haven't had a lot of success lately (Vinton and Federal Hocking)

I wasn't on the Bartrum being one of the best coaches bandwagon... I think he's great for the kids but he's barely over 500 as a Head Coach. Football is more than just wins and loses.

Looks like Yates had a huge game last week. Yates led the Vikings with 147 rushing yards in 24 tries. He was also 12-of-30 in the air for 189 yards and two scores. Nichols caught three passes for 103 yards.

If Vinton County can keep improving on the defensive side of the ball I think they can once again keep it close and maybe with more confidence they may just explode again for another big W. I say VC 35 Athens 34.

VC could pull this off, but I think after halftime Athens pulls away.

Athens should run the table until Week 10. NY will have the best shot at getting them this year I think.
