Jackson driving actually scores but away from the ball unsportsmanlike brings it back and 2 plays later Jeff Matteson intecepts a pass and returns it for a TD!

End of the 3rd

Jackson 28
Wellston 14

Jackson ball around midfield. Wellston having a tough time stopping mid-line option play of the Ironmen! If they take care of the ball and cut down on the penalties they should cruise to victory.

8:16 to go Cody Huff takes it inside the 10. Rockets call timeout. A lot of Huff and Arthur here on this drive.

Prater gets 4 for the Rockets down to the 30. 3rd and 5.

Wilkett gets sacked at the 42 yard line. 4th and 17.

Rockets going for it. Wilkett gets sacked again ball on the Ironman 46 and Jackson takes over on downs. 4 minutes to go in the 4th.

Ironman first play QB counter I think they said Landrum who just took over at QB takes it 55 yards for the score.

Jackson 41
Wellston 14

Lockard returns kickoff to the Jackson 46 yard line. He has had a good night returning kickoffs.

Wilkett rolles out and sacks Wilkett. They are pinning there ears backs and pressuring the QB.

Lockard for 1 yard. 3rd down 11.

Wilkett throws it away, was pressured. 4th and 11.

Wellston punts with 2:11 to go.

Rockets competed better than last year. Jackson as usual wears the Rockets down as the game wore on.
Good luck to both teams the rest of the season!

Guys I hope I didn't frustrate you too much with the spotty updates. I'm turning in for the night.

As a true wellston gan here i wanna be the first to say good job jackson and you won't here that much from me. jackson was just to big and fast.
wellston cannot complain about the refs on any play except 1 huff? may have fumbled b4 he hit the endzone but owell it's over now. but as i stated before wellston will be alot better this yeare and doe's have every chance of atleast 7 wins. jackson how ever has some weakness and some of the bigger teams well not bigger just better teams (logan i-town chilli waverly) may just have their way with jackson. anyhow good game to both teams. LETS GO ROCKETS KEEP THEM HEADS UP

PS NICE TO MEET YOU LOGANLOCO'S IF YOU READ THIS..

I was at the goal line on the Huff run.....he got in by about two or 3 feet and the ref was very hesitant on the call in getting his arms up.

Jackson had 3 TD called back for penalties.

Wellston's QB seems to throw pretty well.

A good first game for Jackson....will have to be better to beat Waverly.

The young Arthur kid had some good runs.

I'd like to see Trace get about 5 or 6 balls thrown his way every game....good things seem to happen.

Cody Huff (#24)and Brandon Trace (#30) had good nights as did number 15 and I apologize that the name has slipped from me (it's getting late and I'm too old for this!!!). Several times there were Ironmen ball carriers that just seemed to drive so hard. Boggs had a very good game tonightas well,. I'd say close to 200 yards between his passing and rushing. 4/6 passing for over a hundred and one TD run that looked to be between 30 - 40 yards from where I was sitting, which wasn't really the best of vantage points All-in-all, an excellent effort/game. Wellston boys are very fast but it just didn't seem to come together for them. Jackson seemed to have more cramping issues and, of course, penalties - costing them 2 or 3 touchdowns. Honestly Jackson played a lot stronger than I thought they would after the Wheelersburg scrimmage. A very enjoyable game to watch and I didn't really see any kinds of problems out of fans either. There were a couple (or at least one, but I think two) unsportsmanlike conduct calls against the Ironmen. I'm sure the jawing went both ways but I think it was pretty well under control considering the emotions and the hype were so high, as they always are with any backyard rivalry. Congrats to the Ironmen and I am sure Wellston will be seeing some wins come their way this season.
