alexanderspartan...Yes, I'll make sure they post it online. I'm also sending to the Athens Messenger, which they will probably run in their annual preview edition.

Does anyone know much about Athens?? I know they were very young last season and...limped their way out of the SEOAL to say the least. They struggled against TVC teams last year and everyone seems to think switching leagues will solve all their problems...im not so sure. Who do they have coming back and what should we look for out of them this year??

I don't know much about who they have coming back as far as players go, they do have Ryan Adams as their head coach. He was a former OU Bobcat who also is an Athens grad, a great motivator and believes in teaching a fundamentally sound, physical brand of football. I believe Athens' recent history of losing will be gone in the not too distant future.

I have to agree with you 91, they will get well in a hurry in the TVC Ohio. IMO ;-)

Athens should be much improved from last season. The Bulldogs return 14 letter winners as well as several others who saw time last year. The offense will be focused around tailback Cameron Tope but with a second-year quaterback and a more experienced offensive line, they should be able to pass much more effectively. Defensively, the Bulldogs will use a 5-3 look. They only lost a couple starters on defense so I would expect them to improve on this side of the ball as well.

Did you miss last years game? Meigs is returning more than half their starters, maybe you should switch number one and seven

My annual TVC-Ohio preview piece will be running in our paper later this week. Almost complete. If I don't get it done this week, I won't have time with the start of the fall sports season upon us. The Messenger will likely run it in their preview edition.

Keep in mind that these are not my predictions as a Wellston poster or two has believed in the past. As I have always constructed this preview, it flows from the teams that finished at the top on down from the previous year.

Recently, that has been Nelsonville-York. This year, the focus opens with defending champion Belpre followed by Nelsonville-York, Vinton County and Meigs who all finished tied for second and then Wellston and Alexander. Athens is the middle of this pack.

Anyway, the unpredictability of last league season is also documented and that added to the story's length.

I'll leave the rest to be read, and will badger the webmaster to make sure it's put online.

Meigs may have lost a few key players from last years' squad.....but i think they will b right in the battle for the TVC.....they have a very good senior and junior class.....they may not b as big as last year.....but they r going to b quick......mayb starting with a transfer student.....not sure if he is still comin...but if so meigs is going to b that much faster :!:

Good Luck to all the (TVC-Ohio Division Teams) their coaches and fans this season.

Belpre returns Ashton Packard TVC Ohio Defensive POY and leading rusher from '07 along with 4/5 of the offensive and defensive lines. Don't think the cupboard is bare in Belpre. Far from it!

Leading rusher?? From the TVC??
