Because it gives me a chance to watch other football games on friday night. Also there is a good chance that more people will show up to watch the game.$$$$$$$$$

WK 1 Trimble @ Nelsonville
Looking for a great game. Any chance of this being on Saturday? How will NY recover from last years surprise defeat?

I don't see what the big deal is about playing a game on Saturday instead of Friday. I'd rather it be Friday myself. It just gives you one less day to prepare for your opponent the following week, and NY will have its hands full in week 2 playing at Piketon.
Re: Trinble vs. Nelsonville (Game1)
Looking for Nelsonville-York to beat trimble this year...They have a tough schedule ahead of them with Piketon, Berne Union, and Ironton...Looking forward to this season and predicting the buckeyes going 9-1 this season..with the only loss being to Ironton..think they are too tough 4 the bucks to compete with.

I think we can baet Ironton if we get on them early and stay on them.

Re: Trinble vs. Nelsonville (Game1)
I would love to see this game in person as a spectator, but if it's week one this year, I'll be covering Chesapeake at Oak Hill on Friday night and Jackson and Wellston on Saturday night. Darn.
I covered four Nelsonville-York-Trimble games in the past, including the classics in 2001 (14-6 Trimble won with N-Y called for illegal subsitution penalty at the end as they were trying to score), 2003 (N-Y won 21-18 to knock Trimble from ranks of unbeaten) and 2004 (19-13 Trimble win with some gadget plays and the famous lateral/penalty play at the end),

I don't know if Trimble will beat N.Y. butt N.Y. will not win 9 games.

I would have to disagree with you. It's possible that 9 wins could happen. Berne Union is getting a new coach again, Ironton has to make a REAL long busride for a Friday night, and the Piketon game couldn't be handicapped by Vegas. I think there is a good chance.
Re: Trinble vs. Nelsonville (Game1)
I do believe Nelsonville-York can win 9 games..even all 10 for that matter...last year an unfortunate thing happened with the ineligible kid and we lost our tvc ohio title streak...but this is a new year..im sure the kids are working real hard to make this season one to remember...and anything can happen

Re: Trinble vs. Nelsonville (Game1)
going to be wierd seeing Trimble and Nelsonville York playing week 1
Re: Trinble vs. Nelsonville (Game1)
This game was hard enough to prepare for when it was week 5. If there is an advantage in this I think it would go to NY. My rationale is it's easier to fine tune a running game early season, as opposed to the passing game.

Re: Trimble vs. Nelsonville (Game1)
If we have a offense like we did last year run 90% of the time with no passing game Ironton will beat us pretty bad.Be nice 2 have that passing game with a decent kicking game aswell.

some things will never change. Boston does not want to throw the ball. N.Y.s offense is stuck in the 70's

Good health to both teams.
I'll take the Buckeyes in a slobberknocker. Keep those chinstraps tight boys.
