I saw them in a three way scrimmage today against Unioto, and Coal Grove today.
On the Offensive side of the football they were a very balanced team that was able to run the ball with a lot of success and they threw the ball pretty well when needed.
On Defense as a team they tackle well and rarely miss their assignments in pass coverage as I saw them rotate between Cover 2,3 and some man they are a very disciplined defense. They filled hard against the run up front, they pressured the Quarterback on passing situations, and their cover guys played their assignments well.
I think this team has the skills, to be a very good football team this coming season I was impressed with them today.Good Luck

I was at the scrimmage as well and noticed that when the 7 on 7 was being played! That on two plays that Coal Grove scored; East had only 6 men on the field! Why, I don't know!

Only 6 men on the field during a 7 on 7? East must have been out coached!!!

Re: East Football
As all football fans know a scrimmage is just that only. Why risk injuries etc or show all talent to be scouted early.Nocoach worth his salt will show too much in just a get players loose and back on the field scrimmage game. So if anybody forms a concrete opinion of any of the schools from a scrimmage better go to football 101 again. Hood completed a 50 yard pass and 20 yard pass to Garrett, who played excellent as a receiver. Also a first hand report of Gray's excellent leg strength. And Coal Grove was a surprise out of the blue. Let the games begin!!!! Then form an opinion of the real ability of the boys to perform under a totally different condition. Also Davis was their with binoculars to observe East.LOL must have some concerns about Northwest's plan to RUN IT DOWN EAST's Throat LOL can't wait for this first game at Tartan's home field. And as of now still mum on QB. RUMOR ONLY possibilty of using different QB's depending on game situation and of course play being called. My last word GO BURG.Surprise!!!!
