Trojans youth was exposed and taken advantage of all night long. The two D1 tackles seemed to be on the side lines stretching and working out cramps a lot, but didn't make any difference when they were on the field. I have to agree with siderman
With 2 d1 lineman we should be able to get some yards on the ground and not have Myers running for his life every play.siderman wrote:It's just so hard at times to run the ball out of the spread. Put Prior and Cadogan at Guard and tackle on the same side with Myers under center and plow down the field with the run. When the defense overloads, run the other way. That how I would try to do it if I had 2 studs like that.
This seems stupid to say when you lose by 34 but I thought that over all the D looked pretty good. They hung tough most the night with West having a short field. West was able to pound the ball up the middle on us but we seemed to tighten up down around the goal and force some turnovers on downs, and one more that should have been. (That wasn't pass interference) The secondary looked real shaky at the end of the 1st half with 2 long passes off what looked to be the same play, one being called back and the other coming just short of scoring.
Over all a big loss for the Trojans and a Big win for the Sider/Senators. 2 back to back blowouts in this series I think the rivalry is heating up even more. Good luck West I think you may be SOC bound.
