West played a great game and really took it to our line on both sides of the ball. Hope Jo PA and coach Bowden weren't watching that one. (Unless they have some tips.) There were a few bad calls that really broke the Trojans back, these calls could have made it a closer game then it turned out to be but I don't think it would have been enough.

Trojans youth was exposed and taken advantage of all night long. The two D1 tackles seemed to be on the side lines stretching and working out cramps a lot, but didn't make any difference when they were on the field. I have to agree with siderman
siderman wrote:It's just so hard at times to run the ball out of the spread. Put Prior and Cadogan at Guard and tackle on the same side with Myers under center and plow down the field with the run. When the defense overloads, run the other way. That how I would try to do it if I had 2 studs like that.
With 2 d1 lineman we should be able to get some yards on the ground and not have Myers running for his life every play.

This seems stupid to say when you lose by 34 but I thought that over all the D looked pretty good. They hung tough most the night with West having a short field. West was able to pound the ball up the middle on us but we seemed to tighten up down around the goal and force some turnovers on downs, and one more that should have been. (That wasn't pass interference) The secondary looked real shaky at the end of the 1st half with 2 long passes off what looked to be the same play, one being called back and the other coming just short of scoring.

Over all a big loss for the Trojans and a Big win for the Sider/Senators. 2 back to back blowouts in this series I think the rivalry is heating up even more. Good luck West I think you may be SOC bound.

WOW.. it was odd hearing about this one.. as you may recall in previous posts i was the first to say west wasn't CHAMP like material.. this proves my post wrong and i'll admit.. howeve there are more games left in the season.. west could still got 2-8 ;-) ...or 10-0.. not including the playoffs of course.. time will tell and i think some teams are definately gonna take a lil more time prepping for west this year!! good job west, good luck(Til u play MHS of course  ) and way to rep the SOC2..

Congrats to West on a fine performance...I had my doubts about you guys, and I am man enough to say so, and I apologize. Thank you for representing the SOC in such a fine showing of dominance, I cant wait til we clash with you guys at the Pasture of Pain.

Being on the other side of a beatdown (like last year 49-0), we know how it feels. You just have to regroup and put it behind you. Think you have it bad playing Burg next week, West had Thornville Sheridan after Portsmouth last year.

Portsmouth has skilled players. You just have to put them in a position to use it. Clifford is a good coach and a very good offensive mind. I've just always thought he get too cute with his offense instead of keeping it simple. You had better talent last year than going out in the first round. Several other times you had similar results. Running the football can be ugly and can be boring to some. Clifford loves to pass and thats fine, but if you can't run the football on any level your done. Myers is a fine player, but if Portsmouth doesn't change things, I really don't look for the kid to make it through the season healthy, and that would be a shame.

Good job Coach T and coaching staff getting the players ready to play. The defense is doing a great job. Keep playing hard and keep the injuries down. One game at a time and West can have a very good season.

I don't know any numebers but Mark Murphy and Dale Swords each had big games. Murphy, I think went over 100 yards on the game.

Seem like they both were playing to not get hurt. If thats all there going to do, they should just stand on the sideline.
