Tartans win 26-7 over Southeastern. Hoover had 3 TD's for the Tartans and Hood did well coming off the bench to QB.

Last nights game started out sluggish and flat but, the second half was a whole different story! I could only guess that, the second half awakening is to be contributed to; Coach Larry Hall's half-time speech and adjustments to our pulling away in the second half!

Now, what I am about to say is not to be construed as damaging or harmful in any way! But, Hoody coming out in the second half at the helm of the Tartan offense made a difference! I especially like when Hood displayed his running abilities with the ball as well! Kind of a double-threat kind of guy. I know... I know... I use alot of exclamation marks when talking about the Tartan football team!!! So, sue me!!!! And, then this allowed the Garretts to do what they do best! Get them the ball in the open field! They will make 10 men miss in a phone booth! They are natural skilled position players; except for the qb job at the moment! That can come later!

The cylinders certainly started firing as well with the introduction of Senior Bryan Hoover in the backfield again! Hoover accounted for three of the four touchdowns in the game; with I think Jordan Garrett scoring the other!

Next week... is the first BIG test of the season! Coach Yogi Kinder's Matewan Tigers. There mean and their nasty and we play them at their place this year! The refs will be looking for any little thing to throw a flag or eject a kid to win. They are expected and picked to win the West Virginia Class A State Championship this year! They have been interviewed on WSAZ Channel 3 News already this year; and in the interview with Coach Kinder; he stated that he was concerned with the team from Southern Ohio; that being EAST!

NEWS FLASH: Coach Bond just called and told me that Matewan was beating Symmes Valley 14 - 6 with 3 minutes left to go in the game! Also, stated that he seen Darryl Davis there also, on the Matewan side of the field!

I am interested in seeing what this East team looks like when they are ALL on the field together. In week one Hoover was not there and this week it look like Grey nor White was playing.

Was at the Matewan game sitting on Matewan's side.Hall was on sidelines,Andy and Larry, maybe it was first game jitters but tonight neither team played well enough, or had the physical endurance, to keep up with East. Both teams had trouble moving the ball and it wasn't because of a good defense.

The only injury I can speak knowledgable about is Hood.Since Coach Hall announced on radio this am guess I can talk about it.He had a slight shoulder problem from late helmet to shoulder hit in NW game.He is still iceing it and taking anti inflammatory medication. He told me it didn't really bother him last night but he didn't have any long passing. This injury should be 100% resolved by next week
