This should be changed, the Cat's will play Fairview, KY in week 2 and Burch,WV in week 3. Confusion is understandable, original poster probably got the schedule from the PDT. And according to this mornings rag, the Cat's beat Burch 2 days ago by the score of 52 - 6. Tell Manchester they are still 0-0.

As much as I would like to see Green win, I don't look for it to happen. I will say Fairland by two tds.

I coach the Junior High at Fairview and I believe this is incorrect, the Junior Varsity for Fairview plays Green on the 30th but Fairview varsity plays Lewis county Friday. I believe Fairview will win the Junior Varsity game. This is their schedule from their homepage.

Sure if you read the schedule I posted carefully you would see that Green's JV plays Fairview's JV TEAM on Sat. and Fairview's VARSITY team plays Lewis county on Friday!!!

JV 2008 Football Schedule

8-30 Green, OH Home

2008 Football Schedule

Game 1 August 29th Lewis Co. Away

Hopefully this will help.

Actually, Green does have a JV team. They are playing the varsity schedule. Only 4 seniors on the team, the other 21 are underclassmen. My question is this: Regardless of the outcome will the OHSAA recognize this contest as a legit win or loss? The Cat's playing Fairview's JV will be more competitive than if they were playing their varsity.

I have never heard of a varsity team playing a JV team? How did this happen? I would think OHSAA would not recognize this either way. Was this a screw up in scheduling or deliberate?

Anyway, I saw Green scrimmage a couple weeks ago and people can say what they want, but Green, for only having 25 kids, are very coachable and hit people. I thought they were going to be alright this season.

Thank you sawdust for clearing that up!! I guess it is better being a smarta$$ and knowing if your school has a jv team than to be a dumb A$$ and not know what is going on!!!!!! RIGHT CALI KID

Fairview has a really good jv team so it should be a good game.
Good luck to both teams and hopefully no injuries.

My bet is on Fairview!!!

GO EAGLES

excuse me but i do know what is going on there are 25 players not enough to have a seperate jv team i have been told by players that there is not a jv team and tell why would you have a jv team with a whole high school team that only has 25 players jv games are what usually on a thur or sat so that means almost all of the players would be playing two football games in two days and who are you to question me about knowing about what is going on in my own school?
but regardless will it still count as a win or lose according to ohsaa

Kid,
I am being sarcastic. Green only has a varsity squad. What I'm saying is that the Cat's are so young they basically are a JV team. 4 seniors(only 2 having any experience) in my book qualifies as JV. I'm not disrespecting them in any way, just pointing out their youth. They play 'til the whistle blows and that's all we can ask. Sorry to confuse you.
