As an outsider slightly partial to South Point due to affiliation, after reading this thread, it's a wonder anyone can get a yard against West. I mean seriously, the '85 Bears weren't this good and they could shut out USC. They are masters at stopping the spread, the Wing-T, misdirection, Jet, Iso, power, straight T, empty backfield, Single-Wing, and heck, they are even the best A-11 defense in the nation.

Unbelievable. There's a lot of football to be played, and it's a funny game. They may whip South Point, but I suspect the game will at least be competitive.

The pointers may have a little sumpin to say about the outcome of this contest.I understand that west is good,but the pointers have had oppurtunity to win both games they have played,just fell one or two playes short.The coach at SP is not afraid to put quality opponents on the schedule,I'll give him kudos for that!I think that SP could be the best team in lawrence county.........This is coming from the guy that had them finishing third in the conference......Keep workin hard,and keep playin hard i still think we'll see the point playin in week 11.........If they can beat the greatest team to ever come from scioto county that should give them all kinds of points!!!

I think west is a good team. As far as standouts, i have to with Morgan at QB... i dont think Dale Swords is the "great one" ... Just a good all around football team... what else could u ask for?

Dale is a great athlete. Dale is an example of what hard work and dedication can do. He is about 6-1" 200 pounds of solid muscle because he lived in the weight room for 4 years. He's also probably the fastest guy on our team. He's a good kid, pays reference to GOD like the quote in the PDT Saturday, and always does his best. I think the world of him.

People that watched him at the Ohio State Camp said he did very well receiving the ball. He has basically led the area in punting for 2 years. Friday night before the game he was kicking from the goal line and consistantly landing on about the other 35 yard line.

Fairland or Portsmouth had no answer for him receiving or running. Most of the time he looks like a man amaigst boys. I'd say he'll be the SOC II player of the year.

South Point has speed just as West does..you are right, I think South Point could have come away with the win in both their first two games. West will not take them lightly. West has to keep improving with every game. Good Luck to West this week! Beat South Point! Stay on your A game!

south point reminded me of a 1980's coal grove team. a lot of misdirection ---ctr's, traps and dives. sp also has a good kicking game---- protection a little shaky. what hurt them in both the PHS and WHS games were turnovers. if it wasnt for turnovers they could have won both games.

the west side better not let their success go to there head because the pointers could be the ones to let the air out.
if sp can clean up the turnover ratio then the Pointers could come up with an upset.

I will say it again,to play with West this year. You better be able to score atleast 3 times. No ones done it yet and probably won't. West will get the ball and pound it at you all night.That is no secret with 4 to 5 different backs why wouldn't ya. 4TH qt. comes around and the opposing D is smoked. And on D for West,well you will just have to watch the show yourself. AND THE SHOW IS UNBELIEVABLE

Also there is no overconfidents,big heads,or world beaters. Just alot of confidence.West will be ready every week,no overlookin on this team.

Am I the only one that finds a bit of irony in this?

NO I was just about to call him on it when i saw your post --- West will win alot of games the 1st 7 weeks , maybe even undefeated , the OVC (did west join ???? LOL) is down this year (all teams 0-2 already except peake) they caught portsmouth down also, BUT we will see how weeks 7-10 go. If they have'nt already crowned them SOC and state champs already.
