I am suprised CG is 0-2, but Valley will not take them lightly. The Indians know they need every W they can get heading into SOC 2 play. I think Valley gets it to 3-0 with a 2-0 start in OVC play

I agree. From what I've been told by sources in Pedro, Rock Hill is going to be VERY down this year. Coal Grove is supposed to be in the upper part of the OVC (which at this point isn't saying much at all).

Time to see how physical the Indians are, Coal Grove is a very strong and physical team (always are). If Valley can handle the Hornets they should have a respectable year in the SOC.

Hopefully Valley continues to get balance from the offense, and in order to do so the Indians will need a big performance from the O-line. Defensively, the Indians have to get good penetration from the line and wrap up when tackling. The Hornets are big and Delawder is a stud. The Indians will certainly need a very strong game in order to knock off the Hornets.

Good luck Valley!!!!

Any updates on the condition of Sparks, he's a good kid and I hate it that he got dinged up on Friday.

Two more wins and Valley should be able to receive some type of league trophy from the OVC.

I generally have an ear close to the ground on Coal Grove. I picked them weeks ago to win the OVC. But from what I hear, they have a player or two with a serious case of the Big Head, and this talented group of players are watching their season go down in the toilet. I see them rebounding this week, but they come up short and Valley wins by a TD or less.

If Coal Grove loses to Valley this week, their playoff chances are gone. They need to run the table to make the playoffs, depending on the points they get off their schedule, 2 losses might already do them in.

Coal Grove is a darn good 0-2 team. The have size up front (when don't they?) and a couple of good RBs. The Indians hold the advantage in the speed and playmaking department. I think this game comes down to turnovers. The Indians cannot give the ball up. I think they will score enough to win, as long as they don't turn it over. This should be a good one.

2 losses did them in last year. You've got to win the games against the DIV and D5 teams. These next two weeks are going to be huge if they win them. Even if Valley only finishes at 5-5 and Minford finishes 6-4 or 7-3. Coal Grove can grab a lot of points in the OVC because every school in the conference besides them and Chesapeake is DIV. However, no one in the conference looks capable of mustering more than 6 wins (and that's being very generous at this point) so they won't get that big of a bounce in points even if they go undefeated in the OVC. You can't overemphasize the HUGE opportunities they've let get by them the past two weeks. Meigs is at least a six-win DIV school and Paint Valley, who is in Coal Grove's region right there with Valley and Minford, could easily be a 7 or 8 win team. The Hornets' schedule this year was the best I've seen it for a while, the opportunities were there, but until Coal Grove starts beating teams that are just as good as they are, the Hornets will annually find themselves trick-or-treating at the end of October instead of preparing for the playoffs.......

Looks like Valley is putting the ball in the air alot this year. Could bode well for this time in the future.

I hope CG coaches learned alot from last game and makes necessary changes - still time to prepare for the OVC games. We have had strong players since Lucas' arrival, now we are seeing positions go weak, hard to watch. Still time for change for the benefit of the team.
