Lots of talent coming out of next year's year senior class. Caleb Campbell and Briggs Shoemaker will be back to help with the line play, both played extremely well last year as juniors and should make big impacts. The return of Luke Pullins at fullback and linebacker should help this team next year in a huge way. he hasnt had the chance to showcase his talent because of an ankle injury last year. wade jarrell, ty warnimont and brian williams all got alot of experience as sophomores last year and should help this team along with many other talented players in both grades..look for the devils to have a good season next year.

I don't agree that Williams got alot of experience last year, but sure do hope he sticks around and gets plenty of playing time this next season! This young man could be a force for The Blue.

Enjoyed going to Wellston for the game.

JMO !!! Parents!!! Little johnny should play hes the best on the team!!! so what all he can bench 65lbs!!! Play the players THAT can play you best hope you don't loose the Williams to Point just because of the BS.

Who cares what he can bench. Just because someone is weightroom strong does not mean they are football strong and vice versa. Bunch of players go through gallia that were kind of strong and terrible football players. Gallipolis will be down no matter if Williams stays or not

I couldn't disagree more. The Blue Devils will be strong this year, even stronger with Williams and I am pretty sure they will contend for the league title.

Know chip!!! Just would like to see the program to be ran right !!!Black White poor or rich!!! If you put the pads on and you can play you will play come friday night. Bring the game back old school, if you call that a chip your just like all the rest!!!

Talent level is down. Doesn't matter if they bring it back old school, gallia is down and I don't see them resurfacing for a little while. One kid will not break ormake this team. Only the offseason will tell

I think overall talent level this year may be a little higher then you think. The problem is going to be a lack of experience and i don't think there will be any depth if injuries hit. As far as going back old school would go. I would not like to go back old school at Gallia In the 70's and early 80's it was all about who you knew. I scene happen right in front of my face. If you say you want to go old school at least then they told "billy" was playing because whose son he was. I'm not going to say it doesn't happen now. But it is not as shoved in your face as before. And 2 be honest with you. When you watch the kids on the field there is not much doubt the best kids are playing to me. I will see some kids make a great play and think why doesn't that kid get more time then you see the kid take like 3 plays off with no effort and you know why. just one man's opinion.

It was all about who you knew??? Its terrible now thats all should be said!!! The 1970 team and 86 team was in the top 5 teams that ever came out of GAHS!!! I can't speak for the 86 team but I know alot of there players !!! And about the 70 team Brent Johnson once said the 70 team was a bunch of men playing against a bunch of boys!!! Both great teams!!! "Back in the day" yes sir was the days.

Listen i am not saying not great teams and not great players. But i don't know of any great player now or in past that did not get to play because who he was, or what color he was. What i am saying is some kids occasionally got some extra playing time or other kids playing time was cut to make someone in the community happy. Now none of these kids that i scene either way were all stars, not that i had first hand knowledge of. they were marginal players. But when you have a coach take you aside and tell you there are 6 of you going for 3 spots and you know there are 7 of you playing 4 spots and you ask about the other spot and you are just told. That spot is for so and so's son. Then there is no question in your mind that it did happen.

maybe this isn't kind of thing that was being talked about. until last 2 years i have been pretty much removed from gallia county sports for about 25 years. And Gallia academy sports for about 30. As i finished my high school time at a county school. And then spent over 10 years in military and did not move back and pay much attention to high school sports scene until my son was in junior high. So if i'm mistaken about the kind of things people are claiming is going on then i am just totally wrong. But i think all the people involved in athletic department that i have came into contact in. Want to build great sportsmanship and team play and win as much as possible. Are they perfect no. have they made some mistakes probably but there human they are not perfect. nor should we expect them to be.
