And where are you from?

Who ARE you people?
When do you eat? When do you bathe? Do you even go to class?
YOU POST EVERY 15 MINUTES.
Maybe if you went to class, your grammar would improve.
Just a thought.
OH yes, and I wouldn't underestimate the Warriors.

Pride21:That's because people think Warren is the better team. Just like Pride21, he has softened his score spread. 40 pts. to 4 pts. Marietta has a big problem with thier tackling skills and Warren is a smash mouth team!!! Warren will be running all over Marietta and burning up the clock so Westbrook won't have time to run his offense. I hope the Warren coaches will pick-up on this.

Re: Week Four: Warren (2-1) at Marietta (0-3)
We aren't underestimating Warren, we know that we will have to show up and play. We can't just send our JVs. We have gotten a few players back which will definitely help with the tackling situation. In my honest opinion I don't think that Warren can stop our passing AND running game. I believe that we are more able to run the ball this year than last year. Although our defense has given up a lot of rushing yards, it was against the likes of Darby, Cambridge, and New Philadelphia. Not to knock Warren in any way, but I don't think their rushing game stacks up to those three teams listed. Also, Warren has shown that they are not much of a passing threat. So I think we will win the game by more than 28 points because of the simple fact that we will be able to run the ball and pass the ball succesfully while Warren will be much more one-dimensional. We have faced two teams that have the same philosophy as Warren so we have a lot of preparation against teams that I believe execute better than Warren will.

Re: Week Four: Warren (2-1) at Marietta (0-3)
I heard last evening that Marietta lost a lineman to a broken arm(?) in the New Philly game and another to a fight. How will this affect the run game of the Tigers? And pass protection. Regardless of who either team has played, Warrens D-ends are very tall both over 6'2" and have excellent closing speed. With two linemen out protecting the QB might prove a taller task that one might think. Warrens interior with Weekley and Fulton both being very quick to the ball can cause havoc for the Tigers. Also the return of two dinged up Warriors in Singer and D. Wellspring can change the complection as well.
Now for the flip side. How solid is Marietta defense? Are they good against the run? We know Warren is suspect on the pass. But if Dunfee, Coffman or Wolfe break into the secondary how good of open field tacklers are the D-backs?s Linebacker corps from Marietta better be on their game Wolfe can punish a LB one on one. I am just asking because I have not seen Marietta play and don't know about this. Alittle insight if you please.

lovesponge,
where did you get some of those scores?
I went through the Marietta Times press clippings just the day before yesterday, and several of the finals in the mid-90's are different than the ones you listed. Ex. 1997 War 49-0

Our DB's are good open field tacklers. The linebackers are hardnosed and are used to very, very hard runners. If anybody has seen Cambridge play then you know what I mean. We have played against some good defensive ends who have yet to rush the passing game. Hilliard Darby had a d-end who was getting looked at by division 1 schools and he was 6'5 250. We have played against many tougher kids which will show in the score Friday night.

Schenk11 will have all the series scores for a press release. Warren leads the series 13-11. First game was 1984.

Re: Week Four: Warren (2-1) at Marietta (0-3)
Who cares about the last 3-weeks?!? Its all about the 1st play Friday, then the 2nd, the 3rd, etc. etc... The results of those plays have nothing to do with what happened or who it happened against the previous 3 weeks... The team whose players make the most plays will win!
Talk is cheap... those doing it usually aren't as confident as they portray!
Marietta will complete some passes...Warren's secondary just needs to keep the Tigers' talented receivers infront of them to avoid the big play...this will allow the Warriors defensive front to wear down Marietta's 0-line and make big plays themselves (hurries, knockdowns, sacks, tipped balls)... Warren will not need to go man as suggested...they have the athletes upfront to get to the quarterback without gambling in the secondary!
Offensively, the Warriors needs to 'go against the grain'...break tendencies early and often!

The best down to throw the ball is on first down. If Warren is able to get its running game going, play action will also be an option. Warren needs multiple sets. Formations and plays become too predictable as the game progresses.
On defense, Marietta will use motion to predict the coverage. Disguise the coverage early in order to improve chances for INT and INC's.
