i predict the score to be 3-2 alexander.... o wait we are not talking about soccer belpre 27 alexander the not so great 13

Hey can't we just agree to disagree and give this up... Its really getting old. There is something in almost every post for Alexander about you not liking it that we have a soccer team. We have one, thats the end of the story.... Our football team will play with heart and make us all proud. Yep, they may not be supurb like NY but these kids are playing hard and doing their best. Lets please just drop all the nasty or smart a-- commits. We understand that it bothers you that we have a soccer team and our football program is not as good as yours. Does it look like we care? I don't think so. The kids are here to play sports and enjoy their high school years. Lets give them the chance to enjoy it with the pride that we have to be improving slowing as we have been doing. GOOD LUCK ALEXANDER GIVE YOUR ALL!

i completely agree with all this nonsense, regardless of who started it, you cannot look on an alexander forum without a stupid ny fan running their mouths. not to say its not the same thing on the ny forum but i honestly havent looked at any of them. so both sides SHUT UP! get on this site to place predictions and support your team.

GO SPARTANS!

alexanderspartan, your team hasnt proven anything yet this year, you've beaten 2 very poor teams. I would stop running my mouth to nelsonville because im seeing a blowout in week 7.

i think belpre will get the win in a very close game
Belpre - 14
Alex. - 12

Shut us up tough guy! We (NY) give Alex static about soccer because we know it hurts their football program, therefore Alex will NEVER be able to compete in football. So if you think about for a minute, we have more common sense and care for the Alex kids that the soccer moms who want to baby the kids and hand them baby bottles.

If Belpre doesn't have someone step up and be a leader it will be a long season. It seems to me that noone will listen to Logue or Yates. Ashton is too shy and won't say anything to the underclassmen. Tate thinks he is better than everyone else and won't listen to upperclassmen. They need to figure this one out. FAST!

Still pick Belpre inn this one due to noone has played Alexander. It will be a close game. Belpre by a field goal.

Belpre - 10
Alexander - 7

nybucks05---- I understand your anger but you need to understand that not everyone acts out or speaks out like alexanderspartan. Not sure why there is such nasty coming from them but I sure hope that they learn to see what is real someday. Alexander football will probably never compete with NY. You all focus on football, where we have several sports that our kids play. That is the kids choice. I really don't think that it bothers many Alex people that we are not an outstanding football team. If a parent has a kid playing, they are proud of them regardless of a win or loss. I don't have one playing football but I love these kids that play and I know they play with heart every game, as does your team. We don't have a great weight lifting room like you have but these kids have worked hard all summer long to get better and we are very proud of them for that. Alexanderspartan---it is time to let things go PLEASE!!!!! You are making alexander football and spectators look bad with the nasty stuff you type. I know that when a football player is on the field there is alot of trash talking. Let us leave it there. Positive commits are what makes kids work hard. Negative ones just make more anger and God only know we don't need that in this world. Good luck to Alexander and NY for the rest of the season. Play hard, do your best and make your schools proud.

i agree with what sports mom is saying. at alexander we do not have class a facilities, but we make due with what we do have. all the kids who are out there friday night have worked hard all summer. while the program isnt to the level of ny im confident that it will be with time. sports mom is right when she says that we're proud of the program and kids. i am proud to say that i was part of the team that won the first two TVC wins, i know big deal but it is to the program. as well as beating trimble for the first time in 8 years.

i dont know anhything about belpres football team this year, but im confident that our spartans will gibe them a run for their money. i also dont know much about ny's football program this year, but they once again are the team to beat in the TVC and i would like to see a team this year (like belpre last year) stir things up a bit. not that i dislike ny buy because it always makes things interesting

im still going with the spartans in this contest GO SPARTANS!!!

Thank you ATownWarrior! Finally someone understands what I have been trying to say for a long time. I am proud of you for being a Spartan football player and achieving what you did during your years in high school. It might have been small steps for some but for our small program is was huge and once again I thank you!!!!

I'm with you gpgm6566,I don't know how this thread got to be a NY-Alexander thread when it was supposed to be a discussion about the upcoming Belpre-Alexander game. I look for a good game between Belpre and Alex with the Eagles coming out on top in a close one.

Good luck to both Alex and Belpre, but have to go with Alex 22-20 with a punt block for a safety in the 4th.

I know people from both sides here (Alex-NY) None of them act like either one of these posters. Why dont you guys sling mud with pm's instead of on the forum. Some kids play football some kids play soccer some are in the band. Let it go. I went on to play college football and respected the kids for their choices. NY has a great football program good coaches and good people. Alex is known for their Basketball, have great coaches and great people. So we have a few posters on here that want to give their oppinion for the whole community. I hope the others from both sides know better. These are just a couple of people not a majority. I read the rules of this forum before I signed up and it seems both posters are in violation of these rules. Now as for Alex and Belpre. Belpre has a strong tradition and Alex is beating teams they should. This will be a close game and the first league game for both this year. No one wants to start out with a Loss. Toss up in this one. too close to call.

This is going to be a really hard fought game I expect to see the defense being really strong for both teams. I also believe that this is a huge game for either team yeah its going to be because its the first league game an you need a nice win to start off but this would be a huge boost of confidence for Belpre an for Alexander. Its a chance for Belpre to get to 2-2 an for Alexander to start out 3-1 which would look real good for them starting out with a nice record. If Belpre's defense plays up to there ability then I see the game being close with a Belpre win 10-7 but if Alexander puts up more than 17 points then its not going to look real good for Belpre at all. Goodluck Eagles !!!

Well Captian, I wasnt wanting everyone to know i played, it was in the early 90's a most of the kids playing now were born about that time. I was making a point that if you are a football player dont bust a kids chops because he plays soccer of something other than football. Respect the choice he makes. By the way,I played middle linebacker at Anderson University. Its a small div 3 christian college in Indiana. Thanks for the curiosity CJ. I figured if I made the statement about not getting on kids about not playing football they would figure I was someone who gets on here like I see most do that have no idea about the sport that they are speaking of. Hope that helps. Didnt sign on to argue or boast, sorry if it seemed that way. Just wanted to be a positive poster and maybe give the kids some credit.

i completely agree with letting the kids choose their own sports. ill admit that last year (a senior in high school) i may have thought a little different. but its a choice the kids make none the less. while it is heart warming to hear these stories. i think it would be nice to get back to the topic at hand. thats "WK4 (1-2) Belpre @ (2-1) Alexander" not ny being better than alex. not whomevers personal life. just football. please!!!

I like Alex in this game. Alex played very well at Trimble. Take away a few of the fumbles and its a tight game. I saw Trimble and Belpre play and Trimble I thought controlled the game on both sides of the ball. Alex is getting better, but have not yet beat a quality team.
Once they beat the likes of Vinton, Meigs or Nelsonville than they can say they are for real.
However a 6-4 season for the boys and Arno would be great, something to build on for next year. Good luck to both teams.
