officials were terrible....for both teams but i believe with the play makers meigs has we couldve atleast got in flield goal range but the officials didnt give us a chance because from what i saw that wasnt a pick but as for the rest of the game the reason meigs lost is because of the kickoff team and im not taking anything from arnold but we dont have enough depth to put the right people in those spots seeing how we only have two starters on the kickoff team and those two starters arent returning lettermen and the rest is made up of unxperiance freshman and sophmores

I saw the same video............. He made an unbelievable interception and managed to get a foot down before falling out out of the back of the endzone.
It was very impressive
As far as the not having enough depth to cover special teams, that happens a lot around the area. Almost all the schools are too small and either force their two-way starters to play special teams as well, or they go with younger kids...................................... You have other options as a D1 school, but we don't have many of those in SE Ohio.

i also think meigs was 10 yards away from a chance to kick the game winner. but with only 20-30 seconds left, i am not sure meigs could have had time to kick it.
i thought ny was good and more important, lucky. i do not think the ref's where homers, just overly official too many flags.
meigs coaches and players can take this game and build on it and be stronger. these kids are very good and close to being more than that. you have made your school very proud. do not let this slip define you. lets make the play-offs.

This game has been replayed on Nelsonville TV Cable many times I BELIEVE BOTH FEET ARE IN BOUNDS not just one. As for the 2 pass interference calls I see incidental contact but no way do I see these calls.

Are the playoffs even possible for Meigs now? Even if they were to win out it seems they may have a hard time making it to the playoffs. The teams they have beaten aren't going to win many games to help them out. Also the rest of the TVC teams aren't teams that will get them too many points either.
Maybe someone who completely understands the points system can give us the scenarios.

Maybe Meigs needs to look at what THEY do or don't do. Special teams have cost them big time over the years. Being three and seventeen against one TVC opponent and one and eight against another the last nine years might make you wonder if it's something other than the officials.

I think the statement of the officials being "overly official too many flags" basically sums up this game and most others that I have seen this year.
Too many officials are out of position, so they GUESS that they saw a penalty and throw the flag. If you don't see it, shame on you, but you don't throw the flag unless you are SURE the penalty happened.
I saw a game earlier this season and the official probably weighed 350-375 pounds (at about 5'9"), there is no way that guy could run with 17 and 18 year old kids and properly cover the field.

A picture of the interception can be seen at http://www.bsbowen.com It is towards the end of the "Both Teams" gallery. The photo is a little blurry because another player closer to the camera ran through just before the shot was taken. I thought I would post it anyway so you all could see it. The NY player's foot is right on the edge of the endzone. The file # is DSC_2142

Spartan fans and Meigs fans would you please quit whining about officials. I have watched the NY/Meigs game twice on television and neither team was cheated. As far as I can tell the better team won. You guys saying the NY won because of the officials is a disgrace to both teams. It was a hard fought contest for both ball clubs. It is a game you hate to see someone lose. NY fans here is a Tomcat fan wishing you the best of luck the rest of the way. By the way, NY fans don't get on here and tell me good luck to the Cats we need the points. I still have bad feelings about our game earlier when you dismantled us. What week does NY and Alex play? There will be some major smack talk from a certain spartan fan. He can't talk smack to us Tomcat fans, the scoreboard does not lie. After the NY/Alex game I doubt they will be able to talk smack to NY.

Class move TCAT1000............... I appreciate the honesty and kind words.
The Buckeyes and Spartans get it on next week.
This week the Bucks play Belpre.......................................
Maybe you guys could lend us a scouting report or two the next couple weeks since you guys have already taken care of business with both teams
AND good luck the rest of the season, NOT for computer points, but just a friendly slap on the back from one neighbor to another

BSBOWEN...I've looked through both the Meigs and Nelsonville galleries and I can't find that picture anywhere. Maybe I'm just overlooking it. Can you please post a link to that picture only?
Re: WK 5 (4-0, 1-0) Meigs @ (3-1, 1-0) Nelsonville-York
Nevermind, I found it. But for those of us who weren't at the game that picture doesn't tell much. It looks more to me like he's out of the back of the endzone. But if I were a referee looking at this picture on replay I'd have to say it is inconclusive and the call would stand as it were called on the field.

you cant tell anything from the pic, but I'm looking at it and I dont think there is anyway he could've had both feet down and possesion. do you have to have one or two feet down in high school?
