Rank the teams in Athens County

Post by alexanderspartan »

1-Alexander, they proved it tonight. and getting better each week
2-Trimble, very good team
3-Federal Hocking, still good, but was just overmatched tonight by Alexander
4- Nelsonville barely squeaking by with luck. Luck runs out week 7!
5 Athens- Vinton County must be really bad

Your not a true Alexander fan so please stop posting. Trimble beat Alexander so obviously they proved they are ahead of Alex. Also you have Nelsonville who Alex has never beat ahead of them until proven other wise. If you did play for Arno you would no not to come on these forums and start things. I also played for Arno and know he would not want threads like this started. The spartans are a very young team and have a lot of potential for the next few years. They have a very tough schedule coming up and will test them. They are a very talented team in deed but need to get over that hump.

Sounds like you are the one who isn't a true Alexander fan. I think we've improved since the Trimble game. If we played them again I think we would be on the winning end of things with the improvements we've made.

If you go by the win/loss records it goes like this:

Nelsonville York 4-1
Alexander 3-2 (The three in the tie being Alphabetical)
Federal Hocking 3-2
Trimble 3-2
Athens 1-4

If you go with your team as #1 My ranking would be:

Federal Hocking
Trimble
Alexander
Nelsonville York
Athens

Trust me Spartan there is a difference between being confident and being stupid. I do believe the Spartans can win the remaining of there games if they play there best in all of them. I am one of Alexander's biggest fans and have put a lot of time into the program. I know Arno very well and know how dedicated he really is. The guy watches more film then all the coach's I had put together. If you did play for him you would no he wouldnt want you coming on here and posting about Alex being the best and drawing attention to them. He is trying to build something here, and he knows he stills has to prove a lot. All I am telling you is to ease it down on some of your post, I love that you think we are going to win every game because I feel the same way. But posting it on a forum isnt doing you or the team any good. Just be a little bit more reasonable in your post, I dont think Im the only one who thinks this either. Any ways good luck to the Spartans this week, Athens will be a tough game. Tope has ran all over us the last 2 years. I know Fed Beat Athens but it was without Tope and thats a huge part of there offense. I still think Alex will be pumped up for the game and win in a close one to move to 4-2. And if I ranked the teams right now it would have to go like this:

1. Nelsonville York - Every Year no matter how many kids they lose they always pull it together. I do think teams are gaining on them and in the next few years the TVC will be up for grabs.

2. Trimble - They know how to win big games when they need to. The kids are always ready to play and play as a team.

3. Alexander - A very very young team this year, and there getting better each game. They are starting to realize when you eliminate turnovers it's a lot easier to win. This team "if they all stay together" will be the team to beat in the upcoming years. Need to finish out strong to get kids excited about next year!

4. Athens - I know they lost to Fed, but they were without Tope and he carries a big load for them.

5. Federal - Not much to say about Federal, they get a lot of mo on there side and Alex comes in and takes it away.

NY would definitely be last in that catagory. After all, janitor's are running that school.

Sue e Side, I see what you are saying. I'll try to ease up. It's just that the NY posters drive me insane with their cocky attitudes.

NY is NOT last in academics!!!! NY has an outstanding college prep course load. Federal Hocking does not even offer college prep courses. Athens might be first in academics, but NY is not behind the other three in academics. Lots of Buckeyes go on to great careers after earning one or multiple degrees in college.

Gee I guess no one told my Daughter that Federal Hocking doesn't have college prep classes.... If thats the case I am not sure how she managed to take AP calculus, Honors English, Biology, Chemistry, and is a Deans List College student. They DO have college prep classes.... The school also has students that (the year my daughter graduated) earned over 800,000 in scholarship money from different colleges. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm how does that work? Don't try to put Fed Hock down academically.... Won't work, hun.

FH ==== cover of national magazine for innovation in academics

:-D

Everyone I knew who transferred out, did so because of the workload required to graduate, including my good friend who graduated from Athens but lived in the FH District. She considered coming back to FH for her Junior and Senior years, but didn't want the workload.

I was told Fed Hock does not offer college prep - that students are not seperated into different classes based on academic ability. (ex. a regular English class vs. an Advanced English class). I didn't mean anything bad by what I said.

One category that I know NY would be first in would be community support for the students!!! What other district in the county has seen the community come together and rally around the kids to not only build brand new schools, but to also build brand new athletic facilities as well. In two more years, everything at NY - every building, every facility, every athletic field, every extra curricular venue - will be brand new. The school bond issue that passed also included extra money for technology. NY will be the most technological school district in the county after the building project is complete.

I think that when it comes time to "put up, or shut up" for the kids, NY community members have a history of coming through and stepping up to the plate to do what needs to be done for the kids.

academicly your rankings are also incorrect. maybe flipping the top two around.

alexanderspartan it has become obvious that you started this thread for attention. there is no way you can put ny at no. 4. you also cannot put alexander above trimble who did beat alex. so i would agree with those who post as follows 1.)NY
2.)Trimble
3.)Alexander
4.)FH
5.)Athens

being a true fan does NOT involve getting on sites like this running your mouth about the other teams. it is about stick by your team no matter what happens. maybe you have stuck up for alexander, but stop running your mouth about things that are irrelevant to the games. Such as Dave Bostons job. cause the fact of the matter is he has a very good program and he has continued the tradition of not getting beat by alexander. GO SPARTANS!!!

AMAZING!

I love that you can state opinions, and feel no need to back them up with facts.

Trimble beat Alexander, and yet Alex is ranked #1....................

NY beat Trimble by 4 TD's, and yet they are 2 spots below the Cats on your ranking...........................

With that kind of logic, you must be the same guy who comes up with the BCS standings each year :aaaaa8

The good news is that most of these teams play each other (except NY/Fed and Trimble/Athens).....
But you won't let something as trivial as logic and facts get in the way of your picks will you. You will probably end up picking Meigs or Vinton as the top ATHENS county schools ;-)

You hate Coach Boston........................ I get it :!:

You hate Nelsonville-York......................................... I get it :!:

You have an obvious sense of insecurity and a need to make yourself feel better by bashing EVERYTHING in Buckeye Land..............................................................I get that too :!:

Now come up with something new. You are the kind of guy who goes to a game and spends all of your time BOOING the other team, instead of CHEERING for your own team...................................................

THAT I don't get :(
