Post by HERD07 »

If you can't make it out to the game tonight you can catch the Valley/Burg game LIVE on the web on VSN. http://www.valleyls.org/athletics

Pre-game show will begin around 7:05, kickoff at 7:30.

We will also be shipping this game off to Time Warner Cable so it will be available on TWC Local on Demand about mid week. We have upgraded our production this week with many new features, be sure to check it out.

I have about a year left on this contract....They want me to re-up, but I dont know yet. I'll have my criminal justice degree in about 3 months so I would like head back home and get a good job, but the problem with getting a job in or around Scioto County, is someone has to die, or you have to have a real connection. We'll have to see.

Make that two old Burg Grad's and the kids putting that production on :) I'm a 96 Burg Grad. Anyway, I don't know what could have been the problem with video locking up and re buffering. While we had a record number of viewers tonight the server didn't flinch under the load, and we have more than enough bandwidth. However I did accidentally start the stream at a higher bit rate which could potentially cause problems for DSL users. By the time we noticed it was too late. We did get a lot of emails from people tonight and I talked to another after the game who watch the whole thing. They had no problems. Hope it started to work for you later in the night.

Let me know and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

This old Burg Grad thanks the other Burg Grads for broadcasting this game live so I could watch it from here at work. I wasn't real busy and got to see most of the action.

Mine kept freezing up as well, but I would just close the window and then open it back up and it would play fine for quite a while before acting up again. It seemed like the 1st half had more problems than the 2nd half.

Don't worry, Dave's been unsuccessfully teaching drafting for 30-something years now, so you are not the only one

Coop, I know you want to come home, but to what? You said yourself you wanted a good job at home. I can tell you unless you are in health field or education, its not gonna happen here in Scioto county. You are young and have options, keep those options open and do what is best for YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. Hang in there young man and thank you for serving our country.

Granted, but I've been a lot of places and coming back around family and friends is what will be best for me and the family. I've lived in the big city, and been to California, Nevada, Hawaii, Florida, Washington, Virginia, and the way of life is not what I'm looking for. Home doesnt exactly mean I will have to live IN Scioto County, thats just where we'll look first job wise. I think I'll have good enough qualifications to land a pretty good job around the area.

5 years of active military service, and a Associate of Science degree in Criminal Justice. I plan of applying to the OSHP, Sheriffs office, the new jail, PCPD, and anything else that may have openings at the courthouses and etc. I'll also look at Pike County, Lawrence County, and etc.

Oh, and you're welcome!

It's been up since Friday evening, about a half hour after the broadcast ended.

Try these links if you continue having trouble:

http://www.valleyls.org/athletics/vsn/v ... 1/FBBurg08

or

http://www.valleyls.org:8081/FBBurg08

or

mms://www.valleyls.org/FBBurg08

If all else fails make sure your Windows media player is up to date. The stream is encoded at a 576kbps bit rate, so on a slower dsl connection you may have trouble.
