I agree with woodsman. If the Streaks can keep him in check, they stand a very good chance of picking up the win. The defense did an outstanding job against Southeastern last night, so hopefully the Streaks have a great week of practice, get some of the walking wounded back on the field, and keep spreading around the touches on offense. Go Streaks!

Adena cannot defend the pass. watch the tape against Westfall really close. a short pass on the line and speed to run the ball and they cannot stop you. pay attention to the short passes to Kline. that is where adena failed. they can stop the run. and are decent in defending the long pass, somewhat. but the short pass you can do all night long.

After they see you focusing on Barnes the switch to Starr. but he runs the same routes. Just watch the ball closely and you will know who gets it.

They only throw the ball like 3 time, at least i our game. and was was on effective once I do believe.

piketon's past with adena has'nt been to pretty but with tackett in the backfield making these outstanding run's it could be a long night for the adena team and if piketon's defense plays like they have for the past 10 quarters no one can hang with them...... all i can say boys is leave no doubt

I am telling you use the PASSING game all you can in this one. barnes and starr will shut down your run game. but the cannot defend the pass

Buddy Barnes will get his, you cant keep him in complete check but the key is to make him earn every yard. Dont give up the big plays and make them drive long fields by hanging onto the ball. He has carried the ball for over 120 carries in 7 games with nearly 1200 yards. Starr is who you can slow down and force them to throw.

Piketon wont abandon the running game IMO. They have 2 backs with 600+ and nearly 500 yards rushing. However they can throw it with Helton with a 68% passing completion rate and over 900 yards to Southworth and Brabson.

Should be a fun game, but Piketon has to play with the hunger of wanting to win!

Piketon has played Waverly, 3-4, Nelsonville York 6-1 and Northwest 1-6. They have played several tough teams and lost some close ones. They are now playing at a higher level and this should be a fun game to watch.

I'm picking us, Piketon of course. As long as we can keep Barnes under control offensively and defensively we should be able to control the game. We need big games from Reed , Tackett, and Miller along with solid decisions from Kenny Helton when he gets a chance to throw the ball.

Adena plays some very tough non-conference opponents as well. Very few teams in the SVC play a soft, non-conference schedule, which is a testament to the programs in the league.

Adena - Piketon will be a very hard fought game. It should be a very exciting one to watch. Good luck to the coaching staffs and players. May the best team win.

Piketon wins 42 to 41. Adena scored with 2 minutes to go went for the two point conversion but failed. The onside and recover, but the Piketon defense holds and forces a 4 and out and take a knee. This is the first Piketon win over Adena in 11 years.

Kenny Helton hooked up with Caleb Southworth for 12 catches for 197 yards and 3 tds.

This sets up a championship showdown between Piketon and Westfall next week. Good win Streaks!
