Listen up Ironton! No reason to practice for this one.. NY is overated and you guys dont have to get excited about coming to NY and playing the very weak Buckeyes. Just read on here how great you are and how weak they are.. It must be true. Its on seop! I bet NY dont even play their starters. I hear they dont want them to get hurt.
I heard the state is inflating their real numbers. They dont really have that many points. They are overrated!

Thats good because we werent going to play our starters because you guys are overrated and weak. So now that we got it figured out that it will be the two JV teams playing this makes it a whole new ballgame.

GO TIGERS!!!!!
I agree! I think this is going to be a very very tough game for Ironton to win this week!

Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
I'd have to question that New Lexington and Martin Ferry prediction. Martin's Ferry has 3 and 5 D4 Belliare left and 3 and 5 D3 John Glenn to play.
On the other hand, New Lexington has 7 and 1 D2 Tri-valley and 8 and 0 D3 Sheridan left this year. It will be very tough to win both of these games. On the flip side, if they do, they'll be smothered in computer points

Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
I've often been told that '81 was probably Ironton's best team ever...and didn't make the playoffs...I think by a half a point...something like that...sad to think that now eight teams get in and a 5-5 team actually has a chance of making the playoffs...ie...Ironton this year probably would at 5-5.
I don't think Ironton is going to have to worry about the playoffs...only first round home game...which should be in the bag with a win...GOOOOOOOOOO Tigers....
If the tigers don't put the ball on the ground and actually play defense like they know how to do...should be over by the half...that is if they are ready to play from the start
Seems like everyone on the team is pumped up...and excited about playing a great game on the defensive side of the ball against portsmouth...hopefully it will just be a continuation of last week from now on out for the season...with great improvement on the passing game and the option game

Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
i understand that our boys are huge underdogs, but we get no credit. Our running back has rushed 1300+ yards this season and our Defense is pretty talented everywhere. we are small yes but fast and don't wear down easily like in past years. This team has the heart and will to win this game. Its gonna be a lot different than you IRONTON fans think it is going to be. The "gladiator arena" is a hostile area to play in and once you get those buckeye fans woke up, they dont shut up. Our boys will play hard, and our boy dont give up. You'll see. I promise. GOOO BUCKEYES
Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
If you say you have to get the fan's going...I don't look for there to be any reason for them to get started...Ironton is tooooooooooooo Much for the buckeyes....this time....Ironton is starting to play like the '90's teams...just need to get their option game going...short passing game just needs to be implimented more and pass defense needs to tighten up a hair.....then we could be talking state...
N Y might be able to play with Welston and beat them in OT...but not the Tigers this year...whole different type of football....tell the players to eat some wheaties and maybe next year they can say they are ready...
I am only kidding about the last paragraph...it is high school...and anything can happen...I just don't look for it to be a very close game myself...although I have ate my words twice this year...just don't think N Y compares to Logan or Chilli...

Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
This reminds me of the Logan/Ironton thread earlier this year, too much bs being thrown around. No one is dening that NY has a good team, this should be a good game, but to choose one team I would have to go with the Tigers in this 1.
The big guys up front will determine the outcome of this one, it might be early or it might be late in the game, but the game will be won in the trenches where the big dogs hang out. And Ironton has the biggest dogs in this fight.

I remember that game and I despite the score being 14-0 NY really didnt have anything for us. #25 ran all over the field that night on the Buckeyes.
