East 32 Notre Dame 26
Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
They called 2 15 yarders on East for leading with the helmet. So the unsportsman like penalties weren't as bad as so make them out to be. It's hard for high school kids to not lower their head while tackling, especially when you have a back like Kayser that gets so low before contact..
Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
Wasn't calling them dirty, not at all!! You just have to try and cut those out. 15 yards and a first down is a killer. If not for just the personal fouls, East might win by a couple scores.Blue33 wrote:They called 2 15 yarders on East for leading with the helmet. LOL, you and your know for a fact remarks. So you were standing over top of him or someone you know was reading his text messages. So Kayser going for 70 on a play that was called when they first walked out on the field was because of his text, LOL. Stop please. It's ok to walk away from a conversation, I told ppl what was said by the announcers, your best bet was to seriously just let it go at that point. I'm trying to help you here man seriously just let it go, East won be happy don't draw attention where attention isn't needed.
Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
I worry when I hear 13 penalties. Tough to overcome going forward and really needs to be in that 3-6 range if they want to continue winning.
Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
I saw Bob Lutz get irate at Wheelersburg one time because he thought the guy running the down marker was signaling which way they were running. And honestly that wouldn't be hard to do. Either way you shouldn't be texting in that situation, cheating or not.
Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
I saw it done before cellphones...the signal to the other side was this simple, if they hear run they hold the down marker down low, if they hear pass play they hold the down marker up high...it has been done many times before. It's sad but it happens...
Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
Easy fix. Put chains and down marker on home side. Home people are running it.Blue33 wrote:I saw it done before cellphones...the signal to the other side was this simple, if they hear run they hold the down marker down low, if they hear pass play they hold the down marker up high...it has been done many times before. Very true. I bet this stuff happens alot more than you think.Mailman wrote: Easy fix. Put chains and down marker on home side. Home people are running it.

Good game, good win for East. East needs to clean up Penalties and turnovers and they'll be fine. It almost cost them(again). East did settle down on D after the first few mins. They gave up a big run on first play from scrimmage but after that played well. I'm interested to see how they do vs a team that throws the ball just as well as they run. Should be a great challenge for the Tartans. Great season to ND!

One of best high school games I've been to in a long time. East has talent all over the field but way too many penalties. ND losing Isaiah Johnson to injury in 1st quarter was difference in game. I didn't have a problem with play call on the halfback toss on 3rd down as long as kid was instructed to run it if receiver covered up. Best atmosphere I can remember at Spartan Stadium since playoff games in 80s-90s...felt like a kid again! Good luck to East in playoffs and to ND on a hell of a season with 18 players.*

LOL you are the one causing the drama! The HEAD COACH told me after the game that that is what happened so therefore I will take his word over the radio.greygoose wrote:LOL, you and your know for a fact remarks. Didn't understand why Johnson played Defense but not Offense, or am I mistaken?art_vandelay wrote:One of best high school games I've been to in a long time. OH MY, you do realize if you look back at your post you went from yes he was kicked out for texting calls. To well maybe he wasn't kicked out for that but he was doing that. I'm sure that's what the head coach told you that's why you're all mixed up. Think I'll take what they said as compared to a chain member stealing defensive signals from an opposing team as that's a bit tougher to pull off. I would've thought since head coach knew this he'd be pretty upset with the ND coaching staff.

Now that I could see, as long as the individual knew the language. Of course before the cellphones play calls were pretty basic and probably very easy to do something like this with. Never really thought about someone doing that but I'd imagine this is something that could've been done quite frequently.Blue33 wrote:I saw it done before cellphones...the signal to the other side was this simple, if they hear run they hold the down marker down low, if they hear pass play they hold the down marker up high...it has been done many times before. Play calls are still basic. It's high school. They haven't changed. It's not hard to pick up calls, you just have to actually look for them.

I was there and saw what happened. He was texting and was called out for it. Initial he complained to the ref that he was being threatened and then it became known that he was texting the plays to someone. The refs verified this and he was escorted off the field. That's what led to the spectators being ordered to stand behind the track. Say what you want, but after he was removed from the game, the outcome changed significantly. Will there be ramifications over this? Time will tell. The school should certainly accept it up front and apologize for what happened. That is unsportsmanlike behavior at its worst when adults are cheating like this. What kind of example is this setting? OHSAA needs to send a message about this so it never happens again.greygoose wrote:No he wasn't. Please just stop. I'm sure the guys on the radio have WAY more access to information then you. Thank you for the further information, I thought that was going on just wasn't for sure.RogueWarrior wrote:I was there and saw what happened. He was texting and was called out for it. But what I do know is that after the first quarter and after the man got caught Notre Dame did not score another touchdown. They kicked two fantastic kicks after that but they did not score a touchdown. Coincidence????
