I keep reading on these sites about West's History and Burg's History. Yeah, if you look at history, Burg has the upper hand. You know what it means Friday, not a darn thing. These West seniors are not a bit scared of Wheelersburg or the least bit underconfident. They beat Burg why they were younger. We have a much better coaching staff than we had in the past and that is why we are 9-0. The days of Burg owning the SOC are over. As long as this staff is here and with the young talent we have, the Gold Football goes through the West Side, and its starts Friday.

I always love that one and you know what, that doesn't mean a dam thing. They might have beaten the Burg as 7th and 8th graders, but hasn't the majority of this group of West players been playing since they were Freshmen, in which they lost to the Burg. Played alot as Sophomores and they lost to the Burg and played the majority as Juniors and lost badly to the Burg.

Just was over on the huddle and it is amazing how many west fans are predicting a blowout and not giving the Burg any chance at all, while the majority of Burg people are predicting a Burg victory, but saying it will be a close game. This will be by far the best team either one has played this year.

They are so similar to each other that I wouldn't be surprised to see this being a low scoring game with a possibility of someone winning in overtime.

west may win this friday but it sure won't be a blowout. as for live4sport. you have to be crazy thinkin west will win 48-3. i see this game staying within 14 points

All of you say that BURG is undersizes...and they are WEIGHT-wise...but Craigmiles is by far one of the strongest, fastest, and hardest-hitting kids on that field. Its not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog and both these teams know how to bring the pain.

Obviously, Im gonna take my PIRATES but I wont give a score cause who knows how this one will be...it may be a defensive shootout or it may be a high scoring affair.

Congrats to both teams for making it this far...hopefully they will meet again later on down the road.

Hey brother Bait, I wouldn't belittle these two MINOR LEAGUE teams too much. I think they are a combined 3-0 against your MAJOR LEAGUERS by total points of like 85-28 !! Your head wouldn't naturally fit in a milk bucket now....... don't make it any bigger than it is.

I don't know why you guys think burg is so good. Did you see them play minford and how hard of a time they had. I do believe west roled over minford with no problem. But you guys must be right burg is so much better than west. OK! You guys also think burgs d-fense is so good. Here's a bit of facts for you burg has had 1 shut-out.......... I do believe west has had 5, but you don't brag on our D. West is to good for burg.

BECAUSE our coach will let our JV play some playing time...West has to try and "impress" by getting the "shutout"...that dont mean a lot to us...as long as we have the "W"...Our JV will be playing a lot in the upcoming years!

This is NOT going to be an easy game! As we ALL know, anything can happen in football..(look at Waverly last year)...hope for an injury free game on BOTH sides!

I watched Burg - Minford game and I thought Minford was the better team, and we absolutely steam rolled them. Everyone said Minford was to fast for West. Burg is small, but they are fast. As Minford seen speed doesn't help you when you are getting blown off the ball 5 yards. Same thing happens to the Burg. West way to physical, Burg will wear down fast just like Minford did.

Close early but West by 2-3 TD's in the end
Swords-Pendleton-Murphy-Bricker will punish the undersized Pirates.

Minfords Dline is not as fast or quick as the burgs. West might win but not because the burgs dline wears down. If it was week 1 with a 90 degree temp at kickoff maybe but not in week 10 with a kickoff temp in the 50's.

I just checked on Weather.com and they are showing a 40% chance of rain for next Friday and that could be a big factor in this game. Let's hope the rain holds off until after the game.

Correst me if I'm wrong, but hasn't the Burg won this contest the last two years by scores of 21-0 and last year, 34-7? Isn't the majority of the players for West back and almost all of the Burg's defensive players are back, so what gives. Granted, I believe that West has vastly improved, but to the tune of 27 points.

Granted, I won't make a prediction on the score because I still believe that it will be a very close game with the winner being whoever can keep the turnovers down, whoever can take advantage of turnovers and whoever can keep the penalties down. In listening to some of the West games over the past few weeks, that seems to be their achilles heel and like someone said, that could be a huge factor in the game.

After reading through these post, I'll have to agree,West is the better team. Let's see, they beat this group of Burg Seniors in Junior High. They have beaten the common opponents between the two by a bigger margin. There runningbacks are bigger and faster then Burg's entire defense. There offensive line is going to flat wear out the Burg by the end of the 1st qtr. There coach is better because he has been around the game longer. West fans yell louder and since the home side is closer to the field, there cheers are heard while the visitors side is to far away, therefore taking the Burg fans out of the game. West is just the better team, talent wise.

I'm going out on a limb here and I'm going to say West 48 Burg 2 (with less than 30 seconds in the game, while trying to run out the clock, West QB on accident takes a knee in the endzone, therefore losing there shutout)

Have seen both teams and both impressive I don't think I can pick a winner so will just say good luck to both teams no injuries and good luck in the playoffs.

If West keeps the penalties down,and holds on to the ball,I think they take this game.
If Wheelersburg gets on the plus side of the turnovers I think they win.
All and all its gonna be a great high school football game.Both teams will be going to the playoffs,and representing Southern Ohio.

Both teams have clinched a playoff spot and whoever wins will be the number 1 seed. The line is West +4 according to calpreps.
