I have to agree with you...West is the better team...we should not even go over there and play!

I do have one question...How many time in the past has the SOCII came down to the BURG/West game? I was watching the 2005 game on burgfan....just curious.

This really has no bearing on the the game this week but if I recall correctly West only beat this group of Burg seniors in 8th grade 6-0 when they had been blowing everyone else off the field. I guess my point would be this really should be a tight game. No blowout either way IMO. As always turnovers and field position will be the key.

What ever team make's the fewest mistakes, or what ever team can make the other make mistakes. Burg has caused A LOT of teams to make them, can they do it to West? We will have to wait and see...is it Friday yet?

But didn't West hang close to a double nickel on them at Burg as Freshmen early in the year? Then later in the year, they played a JV game in which Cooke and Spradlin beat them by a TD?

Yes and they also played Cook and Spradlin last year as Juniors and lost 34-7 so it is a moot point.

Like almost all Burg fans are saying, this will be a very close ballgame. It is the majority of the West fans on here that are predicting a blowout and giving the Burg no chance at all.

This stuff is hilarious to read....Burg fans seem to be very sensitive to the fact that alot of people are predicting a win by West. A few West fans (and fans of other clubs) are predicting a huge blowout, but so are a few Burg fans, so that is a mute point. I won't predict a score but think West will win this one. Best of luck to West, they have worked HARD since the beginning of the year and it shows.

I haven't quite read through all of the posts on this thread yet, but I have seen a few people asking whether this game will be televised or not. I haven't a clue whether ONN will be there or not, but I do know a local television station will be there to record all the action.

The Zone Sports crew will be there Friday, and if you don't have an Antenna to pick up the game on Channel 50 over the air, you will still have a chance to see the game with a Digital Box from Time Warner on Local On Demand. We are trying to get on cable, but unfortunately that hasn't happened yet.

This game will also be available on DVD, proceeds will go towards a Scholarship at the end of the year, and is available for pre-order @ http://www.watchthezone.com/zonesports.html

That being said, I have seen Wheelersburg play four times this season, and I've seen West play twice. From what I have seen out of both teams it will be a great game, and will more than likely come down to the last few minutes of the game, possibly the last seconds, or it could even go into over time.

At the end of the game one team will go on to be 10-0, and the other 9-1. Hopefully no injuries occur, as both teams will be going to the playoff's. I do not speak for the rest of the Zone Sports staff, but I for one would like to wish both teams the best of luck.

I think West by 10. Both GOOD teams, but West a little more dominating. Good luck to both !! I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wish this game were on a Sat. cause i would be there !! Would LOVE to see this one !! Hope they meet in the playoffs, then would get to see them !

Hey JB, are setting your line at West -10? If so, i would like the max. on Burg. I think West wins 14-13, but would love the 10 point cushion.

I was talking to one of the assistant coaches at minford during the northwest/minford game up in the press box and he told me he didn't feel like burg could beat west...so from a coaches view "well at least one coaches view" they feel like west will just be to much for burg!

I'd venture to guess that if you go back and read through the post it is about 80% picking West in a blowout, 10% picking Burg in a blowout and about 10% picking a close game, so it is not that we Burg fans are sensitive to so many people picking West in a blowout, just a little stunned in that so many are not giving Burg any chance at all. Hopefully that is the mindset they will have going into the game, much like Waverly did last year and then when Burg got a lead on them, it was over.


Both teams have worked HARD and that shows in the 9-0 records by both squads.



I still don't get it. What makes West so much better from last year?
They have the same makeup of players. Burg has almost all of there defense back from last year and Burg won that game 34-7 and still yet the majority on here is picking a West blowout.

I'll guess we'll have to see come Friday night.

I haven't seen either team play.. but here are some stats:

Both Teams are 9-0

Opponent wins: Burg- 29 West- 31

Avg. Win Margin: Burg- 23.2 West- 34.6

West technically had the tougher schedule and still managed to win by more. It's also at West's place.

I'm going with West by a few..
