Great pic, volsfan. Man, what intensity on Bryan's face as he is hitting Roback. I know I wouldn't want to be hit by him, especially from the blindside.

On a side note, if you scroll on down on that page and you look at the pic from the Minford-Burg game and this is for Marshallman, who I believe made the post that on all of Minford's turnovers, none of them were caused by the Pirates. I believe in that pic the evidence is there that #43, Drew parsley clearly knocked the ball out of Oesch's hand, just like on the fumble #41 for Minford didn't just drop the ball either, it was knocked out from behind and on one of the interceptions that Oesch threw, the last one was tipped at the line and then picked off. The only turnover that was actually caused by a Minford player was the pass that Oesch overthrew the receiver at about the 1o yard line that Aaron Hopper picked off.

Just wanted clear that up after the post marshallman posted on this thread.

Are these guys Superman??? I mean come on. Seagraves from SP was hard to handle and the Burg did. Williams from Minford was a load and Burg handled him. He wasn't at full strength against West because he got hurt against the Burg, so don't get on here and say that the Burg isn't going to tackle this player or that player for the entire game.

I guess he will be able to withstand the hits a whole lot better than they will be able put them out for the entire game. If I'm not mistaken, the one taking the hits usually gets the worst of it, because it is usually more than just one person hitting him.

Since I have absolutely no dog in this hunt I will give my unbiased prediction. I will say West 22 - 'Burg 20. Mainly due to home field advantage. Both teams are excellent this year. Fans from both sides need to relax and enjoy what the kids are doing on the field, stop getting caught up in trash talking. Both schools have a reputation, good and bad, but times they are a changin'. As an outsider I have seen a different attitude from both communities over the past couple of years and am encouraged by the enthusiasm these people have for their children and their school. Remember that they are kids who are playing a GAME. It's just a game. Continue to show support for them no matter the outcome. As an outsider I will root for BOTH teams. Just wish I could be there.

No their not supermen but they are very strong runners and punish tacklers

Burg will have to move their front around and try to shoot the gaps. When it works, or they guess right, they get a big loss. Guess wrong and its a long gainer for West. As the game wears on, and if West is able to sustain some drives, Burg's front will begin to tire and the quickness will slow. 3-4 yard runs become 6-7 yard runs. Then the big backs start carrying tacklers or pushing the pile forward. That's one thing about the West backs, they seem to always fall forward.

The X-factor is Bricker. When burg sells all out to stop the run, #11 will keep it around the end and he a heck of a back himself.

Forgive me guys...I forgot West had wrecking balls for runningbacks and that Wheelersburg was comprised of nothing but pseudo-conditioned featherwieghts   It's called gang tackling and Wheelersburg emphasizes it...I can't deny the fact that West's runningbacks will break tackels (most likely a decent amount) but come everybody...Wheelersburg isn't a bunch pushovers and they know how to bring it...trust me, I know.

I suppose we have you guys to thank for the South Point victory too? After all they couldn't have been up to full strength since they had just played the Burg the week before. But just to be square, I think we need to get a thank you for your Rock Hill win since they had to play us the week before you guys got to them.

fan4sure,
I dont think---- if west would win that it would be a suprise to most people. a lot of SOC fans think we are the underDAWGS. I believe this is the way we like it. The burg lost a lot of seniors last year and this season has been a suprise for our fans--- because of our youth.

The West Fans have put a lot of PRESSURE on these guys. If they dont live up to the hype then is the season a failure??????? The Burg is pressure free---just play ball.
Some people have said for 4 or 5 years this is the team that will lead them to the promise land.
