Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
Good game to East but in reply to previous conversation the facts still remain that oak hill probably would have not lost to east if their first and second string QB'S had not been lost to injury, oak hill became a one dimensional team only able to run the ball with a JV QB.

Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
I have some serious doubt about " refs verified " part of the accusation that a chain gang member was relaying some type of calls to the ND sideline or press box via text . So how did that go down ? Ref demand to see the guys phone ? He actually read the guys text ? I don't buy that . I'd say its more likely he was texting his wife or kids and people assumed the worst . Lastly to believe the whole tale you would have to buy that the chain gang guy could send a text to someone across the field , that person would have to relay it to a player , they would have to make some adjustment to what was originally called , all BEFORE the play was snapped .. I don't think HS guys at the d7 level could possibly pull that off .
Takes the shine off a GREAT game by both squads . Very impressed by both of them.

What does ND offense not scoring have to do with with a chain gang member texting East calls?

Wow what a game, back and forth in front of a huge crowd! I never thought Spartan would ever see that again. The fans were def treated to a great game.SEOPlegend wrote:That's not true, just crazy that after the first quarter they did not scoreNoitall wrote:This was just going to be an excuse because east thought they we goi,g to get beat
SEOPlegend, what happened to ND getting run off the field? This will be my last post directed towards you, I just don't have the energy or time to argue with an immature KID who is so close minded that it's impossible to speak to.
I find it hilarious that East fans thought a chain guy was relaying plays, give me a break. I have a few things to say about that. 1. how would he get the play, text the play to whoever he was texting it to, they relay the message, and the coach have time to call an offensive/defensive play to set up for? 2. Scoring came from a Sam Kayser run on the 2nd or 3rd play from scrimmage. It was just an excuse like normal. In the end, you still have to tackle the kid...
East fans are hilarious, I'll say that much. You win with 0 class and lose with even less. I say that due to the rudeness shown after the game walking out of the stadium.
Now I'll end my rant with a good luck to the East Tartans football team in the playoffs, make the SOC proud.
Sam Kayser finished with 303 yards rushing on 28 attempts. To say he doesn't deserve back of the year would be an understatement.
Akia Brown is a great kid, and great athlete. He gets the job done and never shows much of himself. He deserves a pat on the back and a thank you for playing so well.
Big difference for Notre Dame was losing starters Isiah Johnson and Bryce Cassidy.
I will say this, you can see just how much a kicker matters in a close game. East had better find someone who can kick the ball more than 20 yards or they are in trouble.
Congrats to East on the hard fought victory, high school football doesn't get much better than that.

Just curious does east run plays in with players or use signals?

It doesn't matter who didn't play when East beat Oak hill or ND, They lost! What folk fail to realize is East has been playing banged up all year and without Key players from game one, they currently have a starter out and two starters playing hurt(and probably shouldn't be) . But guess what, they haven't made any excuses! Why is everyone else? Its part of the game. The thing East has done is overcome adversity, penalties, turnovers, naysayers and somehow remained undefeated. I see so much negativity towards this school and the kids but they must their butts just like any other school does to be successful and these are the results! 10-0. S.O.C. Champs! (team Goals accomplished) I know everyone wants their respective teams to win , make post season etc. That's not always the case. East has done their work, let them (the kids) enjoy their success they earned.

Biggest thing in ND's lack of offense was East putting the big kid in on D in the 2nd half .. In the 1st half he only played on O .. 2nd half they inserted him on D . That was the difference not stolen play calls .

The injury to Johnson really hurt the Titans. You have to give to EAST on the play call right after the Titans scored on the first possession, they answered and got the momentum back. The 2nd half was the Akia Brown Show (brought back memories of seeing his father at Spartan Stadium). Missed special teams opportunities for the Titans hurt them as well, 3 missed FG's OUCH, but those two Cassidy kicked also kept them in the game. Great Game by both team and the play stealing non sense " COME ON MAN". Good Luck to East
Re: SOC Championship (9-0) East @ (7-2) Notre Dame
where did you get the stats from, no one had 300 yards rushing! Lol and what determines who's better? Hopefully not numbers of carries where Kayser probably has double the amount of Brown and ND is a 98%/2% run pass ratio and East is probably 60%40% run pass. If my mind serves me correctly Brown also has a QB who Broke the schools single season passing record. So to try an compare stats wouldn't be the best thing to do. Kayser runs well on the edge, once he gets his shoulders turned around the corner he's difficult to catch. Brown does it all, runs, run blocks, receives (probably the second leading receiver on team with close to 500 or more there) , runs between the tackles more than just on sweeps. You take Kayser, give me Brown! IMO it would be a no brainer. By the way, kayser should have more yards than Brown. He gets it more and all they do is run.js7_22 wrote:Wow what a game, back and forth in front of a huge crowd! I never thought Spartan would ever see that again. Akia for back of the year. Kayser has speed, but not even close on who is the best back.

Re: East 32 Notre Dame 26
Just within the league, Kayser has at least 300 rushing yards on Brown. How could you not say he is back of the league this year in the SOC1? Without Kayser, Notre Dame wouldn't even have a winning record. Back of the year should go to the most valuable back, which Kaiser is currently. East without Akia Brown would have still went at least 7-3. Brown is a great back but Kayser is better. It's that simple.

Re: East 32 Notre Dame 26
I vote CO-Backs of the year. Kasyer and Brown. Both players are valuable. If East does not have Brown, I highly doubt they have a winning record and if ND does not have Kayser, they only get 3 or 4 wins. Both backs do it all for their team, so there is no way you can pick one back over the other.
