SOC II

Post by footballfan49 »

I think it is a testament to the toughness of this league that for the second straight year it put 3 teams into the playoffs. Look at the out of conference record. Next year it should be the same with all 6 teams improving. Burg, Minford, Waverly and Valley are all young this year. West loses a ton of seniors but has a lot of talent waiting. Northwest should improve.

I agree football fan, this is something to be very proudof. Im just wondering, has the SOC ever put 3 teams in the playoffs 2 years in a row? and if so how long was the streak?

Without a doubt....

3 of Valleys losses came to playoff teams, and the other 2 to the shared OVC champs.

I think next year will be a great year in the SOCII

i think that waverly wont be any better than this year (maybe a couple of games) minford should be tough, the burg tough, valley will surprise some folks but wont be great, northwest will still be winless.....and west loses ALOT so the middle of the pack (look what happened to waverly when they lost talent)

I have to disagree about West. They may lose quite a bit, but from what I've heard they have a lot of talent waiting in the wings, they have a top notch coach in Triplett, and Pendleton is only a junior and will only get stronger and better. I have a feeling West will be a contender for the SOC II title again next season and for many seasons to come.

Valley will be much better next season since a lot of young kids played this season and got tons of experience.

Burg should be really good as well next season since this great junior class will all be seniors.

Minford should be just as good as this season, but will they ever be able to consistently beat the three W's.

Waverly should be better next season with Roback as a senior and all the youth they had with another year of experience.

Northwest will be Northwest. They may win 3 to 5 games, but will finish at the bottom of the SOC II again. The really need to go to SOC I where they might at least compete for a title ocassionally. .

Shared OVC Champs???West didn't share the OVC with anyone! lol
SOC II/OVC standings West - 1 and Burg - 2
OVC fans just kidding don't take this seriously.

I'm not too sure what you're talking about...so I'll break it down for you:

1 Loss - Minford (playoffs)
1 Loss - West (SOC champ, playoffs)
1 Loss - Burg (playoffs)
1 Loss - CG (OVC shared champ)
1 Loss - SP (OVC shared champ)

That was Valleys 5 losses....which was saying they lost to 5 good teams..

Sorry Coop,
I don't think you got my joke.

West beat Fairland, Rock Hill, South Point, and Chesapeake
Burg beat South Point and Rock Hill
Minford beat Coal Grove

Burg in return beat Minford, West then beat both Minford and the Burg. There by declaring West SOC II/OVC CHAMPS and placing Burg in the number 2 spot for the SOC II/OVC race.

SOC 2

Everyone should be strong next year.

Valley - Young kids impressed me Friday. Should be strong for next 3 or 4 seasons

Burg - Time to reload

Waverly - Roback with help = better team

West - Loaded at the lower levels. Triplett doing well.

Minford - Not losing much from this year. Need to Expect to win against the 3 W's instead of hope to win.

Northwest - If the staff hangs around , they will improve.
