Meigs has the ability to pull this off. They have the skills to out play any team.

I was a little shocked to hear there will be no pep rally tomorrow. So I'm throwing out a special invite to parents/fans to be at the fieldhouse before these young men load up and send them off with a big HOORAH

Band and Pep bus leave at 5:00 so if you can't follow the team follow the other buses up!

Tomorrow is MAROON AND GOLD day all over the county!!!! Show your support!

Air horns, clappers, cow bells are a must for this game!

This is true... but it isn't just at New Lex it is any state tournament game. It is a rule by the OHSAA

Hats off to a fine Meigs football team... Congrats on making your first postseason appearance. Just remember one thing. DOn't pay any attention to the doubters. You made it to the playoffs for a reason, You DESERVE to be there and go out there and play Meigs football and you will do fine. New Lex is a good team but I have recently watched some film on Megs and they are a fine football team as well...Go out there and stick to your game plan and execute. I know it is a playoff game but you have to look at it as a regular game and get rid of the nerves. You have the talent and the coaching staff to win this game... Good luck and go get em.....

I am sure the founders of the Big Bend Youth Football League are as proud as I am that all of the years of hard work are starting to payoff at Meigs like they have at Wahama. Meigs should have been in playoffs several times in past.

My dad is one of the founders of the BBYFL. (Bill Spaun, ring a bell?) I can admit that he is absolutely thrilled to see Meigs FINALLY make the playoffs. It should have happened ten years ago with Roush and Williams.

Good luck Meigs, and I hope you all have a safe trip up here. And berst of luck to all the playoff teams going at it tonight.

But IMO, NL is loaded for bear tonight. We have a good team, and it has been tested in the recent past and has done very, very well. It is a fairly young, but experienced team, and it runs its stuff well. Making the playoffs last year was a real help to this team, even though they lost to Westfall, they played very very well for a half and grew up a lot.

NL is fortunate to have seen a couple of teams like Meigs, who try to be very balanaced on offense, even if they line up in a spread set to run the ball.

Yes we were informed no airhorns or signs tonight. I think the team will agree their fans will be heard without airhorns. For those that have the air horns just be at the school around 2:00 or 4:00 and let it all out before the game!

As it was told by a few last night this team has the heart to do this. They earned this! They play as a team not for personal goal.

Thank you to those that came out last night to show your support for the team, the coach and coaching staff. As former Coach Chancey stated last night not all know what you have gone through to get here. The long hours of lifting weights, running plays in the summer heat, the rain and the cold. Let alone the injuries you have sustained and fought your way back to play the game.

You have did what no team before you have done.. We are proud of you.. This may not be the last time Meigs gets to the playoffs but its the FIRST. You have made Meigs History and no one can ever take that away from you.

There was some confusion about the pep rally. It will not be a usual pep rally in the gym. We learned last night that students from the Middle School and High School will make a tunnel from the cafe down behind the school and over to the fieldhouse where the bus will pick up the team after they run through the tunnel. The band will be there playing (i hope) and balloons will be set off.

I'm still waiting for those trumpets to play CHARGE at a game. I know I'm showing my age but that is one thing that needs to come back!

This is the first Meigs High School team to make the playoffs! I do believe a Meigs County team made playoffs back in 2001, Eastern if I'm thinking right.
