I hope East can pull it off.

Springfield Catholic played close with Mechanicsburg, and a buddy of mine watched Mechanicsburg a couple weeks ago and said that they were probably the best D6 team he has seen.

Good luck to East, but I think they really have their hands full in this one.

East HAS to score first, and can not go into the half trailing by more than 7. Also we are going to have to take care of the ball unlike we did last year in the playoffs.

I think East will come out fired up and ready to play. I think the D will hold and the O will run the ball right at them all night. I don't see them passing much in this game or from here on out.

I think it will be Springfield who will be shocked !!!!!

Go East !!!!

Even though East may want to run the ball than throw it...they are still going to have to pass the ball if not it will be a replay of last year in running the ball and only passing it 2-3 times will not work.

Cal Preps is based on a neutral field. SC has to come into the not so friendly confines of Allard Park and play on the "Original Tartan Turf" (it was actually re-sodded in 1984 but it still sounds good) plus a nice long bus ride. Advantage to East. East needs to tighten up a couple areas based on what I saw last weekend and if they can get their passing and running game going they will be playing in week 12. Good luck East. Time to get your first playoff victory.

Really it has been re-sodded? A person could never tell with the 5-6 different colors of grass on the field  That is something some friends and I have talked about that would be nice to see is the grass taken out and new grass seed put down so it can be all one color, as well as a field house but I don't see the field house coming any time soon unless the tennis courts were able to be taken out.

Well actually re-sown not re-sodded. The field was completely renovated after the 1983 season. The field was crowned, seeded, new goal posts were put in, and a new field house was built. The old baseball dugouts (the field used to double as the little league field), field house, and shelter house were all torn down. It was quite a project at the time. Too bad the visitor bleachers have never really been upgraded and the bleachers (at least the frame) on the home side have been in place since at least the mid-70's. It sure would be nice to see another renovation take place. What I do love about the field is how close the fans are to the game. I know of no other field/stadium where the fans are that close.

I do agree. The people that haven't seen East play will be the one's shocked. With so much talk about SOC 2 (Burg-West-Minford)and I agree it has been an exciting season, but having seen Burg play three times West once.... hey our lowly SOC 1 team happens to be good too. There will be passing this game maybe just a pitch out or screen pass, maybe a long pass if receiver is open.To the faithful few: we have watched this team all year do what it takes from all players to git er done.I am sure Coach Andy has been working the QB extra this week in all aspects of the game, passing handing off, tuck and run if needed!!!Let's just hope the ball isn't a brand new one like in ND game.Talk has it a new ball is too slippery to control adequately.

I agree, I have been critical of our schedule and jealous, considering we used to play EVERYONE!.But East is for real. The speed is hard to beat. EAST FOOTBALL HAS A DIFFERENT MENTALITY THAN ever BEFORE. We pass, we are fast and we have a swagger. I am just wondering what the next few years have in store, not player wise though.

East comes out flat and then pretty much completely flatlines instead of being up for the game after no fan support from the community of surrounding area fans do not get into the game.

^^^^^^^^^ Not sure I agree there. There have certainly been East teams that were bigger and faster, but probably not as strong overall since weights are more prevalent now than ever. The East teams that have been good over the years were good teams in their particular eras but it is impossible to compare them because the scheduling has changed so much. Not taking anything away from this team as they do look good. Good luck Friday!

I think that what nicknevada is trying to say is that there is now an EXPECTATION to win......it's a strength of feeling we haven't had for awhile.

One thing I do not understand is the question of scheduling....I agree ours could've benn stronger, but if the points weren't there, we wouldn't have made the playoffs, right? The SOC1 has been pretty weak for a couple of years, it's just a cyclical thing. Anyway, good luck to all SOC teams in the playoffs!

GO BLUE!!!
