SVC 2009
Re: Scioto Valley Conference 09
I find this whole thread funny. First of all, as a Huntington fan, supporter, and tax payer, I will support all of our athletic teams. But I am not for all the junk and trash being thrown around on this site by present players(?), or players new to our program and district. Grow up. I have no idea where all this supposed "talent" is, I sure haven't seen it, and I haven't seen anything that resembles the work ethic needed to be successful. You can talk on here all you want, many of you should have learned a lesson or two from the Piketon players last year, but all the talking in the world isn't going to win you a game. All it's going to do is allow people to laugh and mock you when your talk doesn't walk.
And as far as predicting a winner for the league this year, I find it amusing that Westfall is picked by some to finish 4th or 5th. That program has won 25+ league games in a row, and are easily the best program in this area. To think that they are going to be down that bad is laughable. They graduate people every year, but they've got a number of things working in their favor up there; coach, weight program, community involvement that allow them to rebuild every single year. The winner of the SVC championship is going to have to go through Williamsport. And I just don't see a team that can match them, their momentum, their philosophy, or their work ethic to make it any different than it has been for the last 7 or 8 years.

Not trying to start a fight but, how would you know anything about any of these kids work ethic?? Look they don't even have a coach. Pretty hard to "rally the troops" when you have no leader. Oh and by the way for someone that is suppose to support Huntington's football program you never miss a chance to put it down.

huntsmen wide wrote:ausa how can you say they have very little talent.. they have both the hettingers clint turner perkins and pain and mitchell.. so thats talent ther... but i can see them beating paint valley and zane trace unioto and south eastern westfall or piketon will take 1st in s.vs 2nd will be piketon or west fall depends who wins when they play adena will take 3rd so the rest is up for grabs..
Pretty easy to say they have very little talent. Besides Mitchell I've never even heard of any of them. I can go to any roster in the league and pick a few names, put them on the internet, and say thats talent.

Re: Scioto Valley Conference 09
3 Step Drop Westfall returns like 10+ starters from last year. after the PV game last year, there were many changes that put some frosh and soph. on the field. There is also the latest Kline boy who will be a frosh this next season (Luke) whom many believe is faster than Ben ever was. our line was fairly young last year. I would look for Near to be the QB this year. he was the back up 2 years ago and has an awesome arm. we did loose Been, gibson, DJ and few others but I do not see that being a problem.

I don't know if it official, but many say Tom Carmon has been hired as Huntington's new head football coach.
Carmon has been involved for many years and played offensive line at Bowling Green State University.
Let's hope things turn around for the players in the hills.

Just read this on wkkj.com..
Carmon hired as Huntington's new football coach
Carmon was an assistant coach at the school the last 5 seasons.
The Huntington Board of Education in a special meeting Tuesday hired Tom Carmon to be the school's new Head Football Coach, taking over for Ferdie Marquez who resigned following the 2008 season.
Carmon was a Huntington assistant coach the past 5 seasons, and prior to that an assistant coach in North Carolina. This is Carmon's first head coaching job.
