I hope to see Waterford win, but if I was to bet on it I would be going with S.G,35-20.

Big Game for both teams!

Go Rebels! You showed enough in the second half of the Wahama game to show what you can do! Believe in yourselves and each other. Have a good 4 days of practice and everything will come out for the good!

The defense was very good last night... Wahama had some big pass plays but the run defense was very good... On the other side wahama's defense was as advertised.. Very strong up front with great pursuit and speed on the outside. Rebels need to get a w in this one

Tough 2nd quarter but bounced backed and shut the high scoring White Falcons out in 2nd half. According to Joe Eitel ranking SG slipped to 10 but are barely behind 2 teams in front of the with good points to be had with a victory next week over #12 and 5-3 Waterford. It appears that SG still controls it's own destiny.

According to Joe, south gallia is sitting in the ten spot and Waterford is in 12th.. Could be a win and in situation. Waterford has Belpre next and should win that game.

Week 9 at Waterford? There won't be a stitch of grass between the hash marks, and six inch tall grass outside the hash marks.

Despite the less than ideal field conditions, Rebels win by four scores in this one. H2OFord is one dimensional. Force them to throw it, and it will be a long night for the Wildcats.

Good luck to both teams, play hard and injury free.

SG plays like they did Friday night minus the second quarter they should win this one. I don't think they will have as much trouble moving the ball as they did against Wahama.

I don't think we will see another defense like that, unless we make playoffs and move passed the first or second round. That was one of the most complete defenses I've seen in a couple years.

Big game for SG this week as far as playoffs are concerned. Get a win in Waterford and the Rebels will have a good shot at the playoffs. I would say Coach Peck will have the Rebels ready for this one after last weeks loss to Wahama. Rebels can't look past Waterford, I don't care how big week 10 will be against Symmes Valley. Gotta win this one to feel somewhat comfortable when SV comes to Mercerville.

SG - 36
Waterford - 12

With this Game being at Waterford and the weather looking cold and wet for Friday...this will be alot closer game than some of my friends in Mercerviile would like to think!!! I think the Rebs and their fans are learning the meaning of the phrase "The playoffs dont start after wk 7"....But if SG limits their turnovers and STUPID penalties they should win in a close one!!! SG 36 Waterford 28

I strongly doubt Waterford will put up 28 points. The rebel defense held the high power wahama offense to 28. Then the next closest were sciotoville east and Trimble scoring 18 points. Meanwhile the waterford offense has only scored 21+ one time this season.

22-8 south gallia win IMO

IF the weather stays like it is today...and it's supposed to... SG will commit enough turnovers and "cheap" penalties for Waterford to score 28!!! I've watched every SG game this season...either in person or on film...they are one of the most undisciplined teams with penalties that I've ever seen!!! It's usually the same kids every week!!!

Really??? Make a trip to Canton and Massillon the first weekend of December, there you will see COMPLETE defenses. I agree Wahama's D was ok but laughable when compared to what you see at Ohio state championships.

I am glad you are welll traveled. I am not, I dont go that far for any non- professional game unless it is to watch the rebels. So I am very accurate on my statement about the wahama defense being one of the most complete defenses I have seen.

The last two games I have seen that south gallia was not playing in are river valley last year against rock hill, and gallia academy vs ironton in 05. And IMO that defense was better then any team south gallia has played in a while and about even withthe ironton defense.

I too, have been to many, many regional and state final games in Ohio but what "friday nite fan" forgets to tell you "Runnin rebels" is that some of these teams we've seen over the years are also the "best teams money can recruit" in a lot of instances and it's not home grown talent. Personally, I'd love to see what it would be like to coach at some of these schools in DV and DVI especially that have open ended resources to pluck talent from the nearby area and still keep the enrollment down. Every day would be like Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas combined for some of these coaches around the state at these schools.
