Should have been pulled after the first quarter. Just my opinion, but if Lowery starts the second quarter, they don't go into a 16-pt hole and Burg probably wins this game.

Credit to Coshocton, they played solid, but most of the errors were unforced and were the Burg doing it to themselves. Definitely not the same team that played all year. Nelsonville-York could have won last week if this Burg team showed up.
And again.... which kid are you picking on? Seems to me like you can't blame ONE player.
Not picking on anyone, just stating facts. Talking about Burg's starting QB. For most of the first half, couldn't catch a snapped ball. Which should be routine for a QB. Anyone who went to the game could see that.

Were you even watching the game? To blame the qb for the low snaps is acinine. You are clueless. These are high school kids doing the best they can, while adults sit and critique every mistake they make. It's a game. Does anyone remember that?

Burg fans, what are your thoughts on the Coshocton vs. Coldwater game next week? Do you like their chance to end Coldwater's 23 game playoff win streak?

Snaps to the QB could depend on a few things. Start with it was the coldest night of the year. How the defense lines up near are over the center can make the center snap a little different so he can repair is blocking. Even the QBs hands are cold along with a stiffer ball. The weather and ball is the same for both teams but the teams reaction to it will be different.

Was Athens Stadium big enough to hold the Wheelersburg masses?

Burg was in the gun every snap, coshocton was under center big difference

You are something else. You have made multiple comments on my posts when I have talked about the possibility that this Wheelersburg was as prepared as the teams the last couple of years. You make ridiculous comments and have nothing to back them up. Then posters who had their opinions validated come on and post and you roll back to dominating the league. No one has questioned the Burg owning the SOC.

Congrats on another great season for the Pirates. If the pickups of Waterson and CJ are true, then they should walk to the final four in 2017 on talent and preparation alone.
Waverly will continue their upswing next year and that should be a heck of a game in Burg, Jackson had a down year and I look for a bounce back year from them. If they can play Waterson and CJ to go along with Jackson and Waverly they'll have a pretty solid schedule and that's not to mention teams such as Valley, West and Ironton and if they improve. HOWEVER, to try and place them into the final 4 is simply crazy. You have no idea what other teams in the region will bring to the table and whether or not Burg plays worst game of the season in that game. Not even 24 hrs removed from a loss and you're placing them into the final 4 for 2017 come on now let's be realistic.
Ironton lost by a similar score to coshocton as burg did

Watterson will be a good test

Jackson has most of their team
Back and ran the ball on the burg as good as anyone on a down year

Waverly was a play or two away from
Winning this year

West has everyone back and played burg even for 2 1/2 quarters

Redskins take a step back next year due to graduation.

How much does Gararway lose to graduation?
Garaway And Coshocton will both all be down next year.
Garaway loses 20 seniors. Most important loss is their qb who has thrown for 10k in his career.

Coshocton will be down next year. They lose pretty much everyone. They do have a solid freshman class.

^^Exactly that's why I do believe their schedule will be stronger, will it be enough to get them battle tested time will tell. Having Waverly and West improved is a really good thing. As most open schedules are at the beginning of the year, I'm not a believer that playing a tough team in week 1 or 2 helps you in week 11 on, if the rest of your schedule is filled with mediocre teams from your conference as you can do nothing about that part of the schedule. Look no further then NY, they played some tough teams week 2 and 3, rest of the schedule however was filled with average teams and you seen what happened against Burg in the playoffs. Teams change so much from beginning of the year till the end that having tough conference teams is possibly the most beneficial thing. Look at the MAC and the teams from top to bottom not near the down weeks SOC teams face. Look at Coldwater's schedule 1 team went 1-9, everyone else was .500 or better. 2 of the teams are in the final four and Fort Recovery lost to Minister.

Didn't make the game but I think you'll see another Mac championship. Every one wants the Burg play bigger schools. A couple of losses to them and you won't make playoffs. Win the SOC and be happy.

Who says you lose?? Can't play scared and you can't run and hide from teams who may possibly beat you because you're worried about playoffs in week 2-3. 2 teams made it in their region with 3 losses.

Coshocton's defense played well enough to keep them in the game and win, and that is really all you can ask your defense to do. The are by no means a dominate defense, but remember nearly all of their guys go both ways, and fatigue usually shows up on the defensive side of the ball. Coldwater may struggle next week to adjust to their offense early on, especially since they are used to playing spread teams, but they will eventually and then it may get ugly. I don't see them stopping Coldwater.

Coldwater will win no problem against Coshocton. Burg should have won but came out flat and gave the game away with mistakes. Burg was better team and beat themselves. Period

Coshocton didn't make those mistakes so one could argue that they were the better team last night.

High Roller wrote:Wobycat, you can't tell me the Burg community is happy with a regional runner up trophy in the case. Can't believe I just read that. Kids had a nice season but anything short of a regional title seems kind of hollow with the ultra high expectations the Burg community had.

Burg coaches might want break out some Ed Miller and Bob Lutz era tape and watch some physical football that would help their efforts. Spread offense is cute versus teams you are as good as but it isn't conducive to winning against big boy football teams with similar or better athletes.

Wobycat you are a good poster. It is guys like P(Irate) that runs their chops all year long that causes resentment of your team and community. Most schools have supporters like this unfortunately.

Good post fbnut.
Thanks.
