talked to some of the players and they said they have been working hard in the weightroom and on drills among theirselves on the field. they said that some of the past players like (fannin, smiley and b.smith) have been coming around and working with them also. Now that is tradition.

This year will be great for the BURG!!! They have lots of talent and by far have the best team in the SoC. They have a few postions to fill; one being a linebacker spot. The possiblities would include Tyler Lang, Brandon Hall, Drew Parsley, Ryan Scott and Jacob Culver. These were just a few that i pulled off of Burg fan. All have played varsity ball and started except for Culver but from what ive heard he isnt a kid you want to hit. Coaches are going to have their hands full with so many skilled players this year. Good Problem right. Go Burg!!! Beat Ironton three years in a row!!!

I wouldn't judge either in the smarts deptartment, we haven't seen lang enough and shank was kind of thrown into the fire as a soph. Shank showed me a lot last yr in week 1. Most sophs would have p'd their pants having to come in, in week 1 against a team like ironton but he marched the burg down the feild in the closing minutes for the winning td. He continued to impress me as the season went on. People like to nitpick but the kid was a soph he will get better at everything. With the exception of c brown back in the early 80's I am not sure I have ever seen a soph qb play any better for the burg than shank did in 08. The team might be better off with shank at qb because it will allow the coaches to play lang at Lbacker on D. Lang is one heck of a D player and has a heck of a nose for the football. The team will be in good hands no matter who is taking the snaps.

Eaton was better than Shank his soph. year.

As a Football runner Shank and Eaton are a wash. But as a QB, Eaton far more advanced as a passer. I watched them both. I look for Shank to improve in that area this year, he's a heck of a competitor. As far as stats, the team stats for his year is all I could find. Eaton team pass yds was above 700 yds, Shanks Team was around mod 600's with Lang contributing to a few of those in the first game.

The Burg played Zane Trace in 1984. Jim Gill was the coach at Zane Trace. Burg won, just don't remember the score.

Burg has played Adena once, UP THERE and Adena thought they got homered on their home field. I remember there coaches ripping the refs at the half and after the game. I thought that was funny that they thought they got homered on their home turf.
