Oak Hill '09
Re: Oak Hill '09
Those two "runts" gave a lot of o-lines fits, Jacob Taylor and Jack Welsh combined for 15 sacks, several forced fumbles, and over 100 tkls. from the DT positions both weighing in at a max of 160 lbs. Both return this year and yes Oak Hill needs to work on team speed, especially on the o-line (JMO).

Oak Hill has a 7 on 7 Friday the 24th. I believe it is at 10 but not entirely sure.

Anything worse than that and you will see a new staff at OHHS next year. Trust me on that one. Yes the SOC I is the worst league in the state. I would challege anyone to come up with another. That being said, we couldn't win it with the talent we had last year. The overall coaching for the Oaks must improve or will lose 3 games. There is no way the Oaks lose more than three and that is if the same bs from last year carries over, but I have a feeling thats not going to happen. Game plans and organization have to improve and if it does look for the Oaks to be right in the playoff hunt for the first time in the schools history. You think our Basketball crowds were big. Put a winning football team on the field like we did in the 80's and early 90's and our fans will pour in. Exciting times for Oak Hill Football.
The good news is you dont have to play last year's Minford team again.
The bad news is that you have to play this year's Minford team and they will be much quicker and stronger than last year, only giving up a couple of starters.
I love Oak Hill and the good people there. But I say this with no disrespect, but Minford took Oak Hill behind the woodshed last year, and I would expect MUCH of the same again this year.
And if getting in the playoffs is what it takes to keep their jobs, good luck, cause 9-1 may not get you in with the strength of schedule that you have this year. I see Oak Hill going possibly 9-1, but more likely 7-3.
Anywho, good luck this season. I root for all local teams until they match up on Friday night with my alma matter!

Stop acting like the SVC is such a tremendous league. Powerhouses? Come on. SEOL and SOC II are WAY better conferences.

I'm sorry but there is no way Minford beats us the way they did last year. It just will not happen. We will be MUCH better and you play us at home. No way you blow us out, no way. You might beat us but you will not blow us out. Take that to the bank.

You tell me what bank will cash that in and I will take it there.
Same thing you guys said last year. "No way Minford beats us!" or "We will give Minford all they want this year!"
41-0 last year and Minford lost I think 3 starters. They will be much stronger and quicker. Do the math.
Re: Oak Hill '09
I'll say Minford will win by multiple scores. I think Oak Hill will be improved, but Minford is a high-caliber playoff team - a darkhorse for the regional title. Oak Hill will have to go 9-1 just to even be in the conversation. . .
Re: Oak Hill '09
Bleeding Red, I believe I said Minford might beat us but it will not be by 41. Any bank you want! By the way, I never said that we would beat Minford last year and if we score that first touchdown that is a whole different ball game. What you have to understand is we had a lot of seniors who all they did was lose their entire careers. This group of Oaks are proven winners and they will not fold when you go up on us, but instead they will fight back the entire game. We might not win this year, but look forward to cashing in at the bank of your choice.

Its a whole different ball game if you scored the first touchdown? Minford beat you 41-0. Not making much sense.
Sorry, I dont think it will be much of a game at all. It shouldnt be anyway.

Just my opinion........
I don't know WHAT you are talking about. At their game with Minford last year (2008) Oak Hill's line was barely smaller than the Falcons. I'd say equal. Their skilled positions were built well, too. No string-bean lightning bolts.
if the lines were equal then why did oak hill get blown off the ball during that 41-0 spanking

we look soo much better, no worthless seniors that made one bad play and kept their heads down. the group that leads us now are proven winners.... we work hard and we work harder evry day. every one doubts us against minford this year and it just dont make sense.... who doubted oak hill winning state championship in basketball? lots of people! but it happened..... dont say much of that again because you dont know. my point is that oak hill is lookin better and i think we will suprise southern ohio.

You say doubting Oak Hill beating Minford doesnt make sense. It was 41-0 last year and the dogs got called off really early, as a matter of fact the starters played the first series of the second half and were taken out.
So no, it does make sense. I think that it could be a closer game than last year, but still shouldnt be much of a game.
I think that Oak Hill has a great chance of winning the SOC I, but the SOC II schools are on a completely different level.
