I think Nelsonville-York MIGHT have an opening in week 3. I don't believe NY renewed with Berne Union. Unless a new team has already been scheduled that I am unaware of, I think NY might be available.
I would love to see NY vs. Jackson or Chillicothe.

Re: Jackson 2012 Week 3 Opponent
My pick: DI Cincinnait LaSalle (Finished 7-3, no playoffs -#9 Region 4, member of GCL. Lost to DIII DeSales 52-7, DI Moeller 35-13 and St. "X" 45-21. A good team but beatable and it would provide tons of points if they could sneak out with a win. Playing up, good competition, computer points, easy travel down 32/50, would a loss really hurt, no.)

Re: Jackson 2012 Week 3 Opponent
I don't think Jackson or ANYONE in SE Ohio wants a piece of LaSalle. Whole different level.
Darby could be really interesting. I see them up here once or twice a year - fundamentally sounds, strong defense and running game. I think it would be a great match-up. Darby only has about 50 kids on the roster too. They lost a number of kids to Hilliard Bradley when they opened a few years ago.
Darby is likely to win 6+ games - but they have had a hard time making the playoffs due to a weak non-league schedule. If Jackson would win 7-8 games and Darby beats them, it would help them a lot.

I had heard that West and Chillicothe may end up playing each other, but I don't know for sure if they have reached an agreement.
My pick out of the teams listed above would be Licking Valley. They're one of the best programs on that list, they're usually D3, and they're a perennial powerhouse. A game against them would be a HUGE challenge every season.
That said, I've been hearing that it's probably going to be Hilliard Darby. Locos already pointed out that Darby could be a really good fit. If it ends up being Darby, it'll definitely be a huge challenge for next year's team that should be mixed with some experienced players and some good, young talent that is coming up through the program.

I wouldn't mind seeing what this years team could do against la salle but they are way out of southern Ohio teams league but it would have been a good gam to watch this season.
I would have to go witg west. We would have got way more points for beating a solid smaller school like them than we did for taking a risky game against at Charles who's record was bad but still a good team. I would say West v Jackson would be a great match up

i still don't understand why jackson is dropping ironton. have you seen the crowds we bring.
and the computer points , every year, without fail.

Re: Jackson 2012 Week 3 Opponent
I believe it was because the SEOAL realigned all league games to weeks 6-10 and the Ironton game wouldn't fit week 7 like it had been. However, I would love to see it moved to week 3 if Ironton does have an opening that week. This year's game was the most exciting one I saw this year during the regular season.
Re: Jackson 2012 Week 3 Opponent
Exactly. There's your answer, YTB. As coyote26 said, if Ironton has an opening in Week 3, give us a call.coyote26 wrote:I believe it was because the SEOAL realigned all league games to weeks 6-10 and the Ironton game wouldn't fit week 7 like it had been.

i'm hoping they are looking into this. and west would be another good quality game to fit in there.ironton/jackson should be every year. and it's incredible what it does financially for the sports athletic budget.

Scheduling local games in weeks 6-10 must be a nightmare for Independents. As most know, that's when league games are played. It will be interesting to see how Ironton fairs in the coming years. This isn't the 70s and 80s as times have changed. I wish them continued success but the road ahead appears to be rocky.

Licking Valley-Valley was young last season and though they won't be the force they were back when STORM KLEIN was there, they will be pretty good in 2012.
Pickerington North-Another school that is going to be good but not (JUST MY GUESS)AS GOOD AS THEY WERE LAST SEASON.
