All time Southern Ohio Quarterbacks.
Re: All time Southern Ohio Quarterbacks.
I thought Ben Hartsock played TE / RB in high school. I didn't know he played QB.

Another one to throw in the mix, from the early 60's Larry Bainter, Logan Chieftian and OU Bobcat.
Are you this old?

Do you remember his 99 yard run?

noreply, I believe it was more like 99 and 2/3rds yards. From the Market Street end to the Vo. Ag end. Yes I remember it well. But I was just a pup at the time.
Re: All time Southern Ohio Quarterbacks.
You are right, it was just about at the goal line.
If I can rememeber right that was the beginnng of the come back in that came

Might want to add Jerry Fields of Coal Grove, Ohio State and the New York Jets.

Logan's Joey Conrad gets my vote. He holds eight LHS passing records. He was really fun to watch. A high-energy, electric player.

While we are at it, lets add John and Scotty Gasser former Chieftians.
Re: All time Southern Ohio Quarterbacks.
John Gasser would go down in my book as the best all-around.
Wasn't a thing he couldn't do.

My bad. I read the topic incorrectly. Add him to the best southern Ohio football players!
I am sure that he would have been one heck of a QB in high school. He could have just dropped back and ran through eveyone.

Joey Conrad did a lot better in the North South Game than Justin Zwick did in the 2001 chapter of the game. I don't know the stats, but Conrad has to be up there after beating the crap out of a Blue Chip OSU recruit.

It is obviously Ealey, but the best SOC 1or 2 QB I played against was BHowell-West. 90-91. The best option QB was TShoemaker-PV, nasty!!!!

Re: All time Southern Ohio Quarterbacks.
As far as East quarterbacks go; Nathan Hood threw for around 985 yards this season! Considering East over the last 25 years has been a predominately running offense! That is pretty good for East!

NICKNEVADA:
What about D.R. Robinson from Waverly? He did go on to start at QB for Ohio University.
What other SOC quarterbacks have started at QB for a D1 school besides D.R. and Ealey?

For Burg: Eaton Miller Kaskey who was qb in the era of Ed Miller 1979 to 1982? they were all good. was a gray a qb then?
For Ironton: M Snyder toughest kid I ever seen play qb M Lutz 1988 Ryan Guthrie was very underrated
For Coal Grove: Steve Murphy

my dad seen Kerns and still talks about him being a beast
Chuck Ealy was the best and it would be great to see him on the murals of P-town floodwall with the other sports legends of Portsmouth
