2old ...
I'll go elsewhere after one last thought -- you first stated your contention that the cost of fuel in Logan is the same as everywhere else. Now you want to change that contention to the fact that the roads in southeast Ohio suck. You can't have it both ways -- none of us would argue that the road trips are quite often, at best, rigorous. Still, based on your original thought, I would bet that Zanesville expends more on transportation for league travel than Logan does, hands down.
Tom Morris notes that the resolution was to explore what it would take to exit the league. I've heard the same thing. Like the old parlor game "telephone," by the time it was posted here for discussion, the resolution had morphed into being for the immediate departure from the league.
Basically speaking, I think all districts in the league would be remiss in not evaluating their memberships on a regular basis. I would suspect this to be especially so with the four newest members of the league. That the Ironton BOE opted to do so in a public manner is their perogative.

Zanes-Vegas, in Ironton's defense, it's Logan fans coming onto Ironton's post that starts all this stuff. Maybe some Ironton fans are going on their's too but if so, they were provoked.

ZV,
We have hit the problem of posting in forums. My point about the fuel and late travel is that it effects Logan the same way it effects Ironton. I did not drag Zville into this. But historically (and Ironton loves history) the Tigers have made some very long road trips for games. As far as the roads it is just the way it is. I am not complaining or trying to justify anything.
ZV, if I was Floyd I could remind you you saved a tank of gas by not going to Chilly last year in BB. But actually fuel is what it is. i can't change that.
I don't mind the BOE discussing getting out. In fact if you notice not many have encouraged ironton posters to call their board members asking Ironton to stay. The departure of ironton will occurr sooner or later. probably sooner.
I doubt Logan reviews its league affiliation very often. Been in the league since 1925. It has worked pretty well.

The reason why Chillicothe couldn't go to the MSL Buckeye is the league is full now and will be for a few years. There is no need to mess with a good thing. The league is very competitive, travel is close and the gates are good.
What is on the horizon for the MSL is three schools in the league - Teays Valley, Canal Winchester and Hamilton Township outgrowing the Buckeye in the next 5-10 years. There will be a need for some sort of realignment. Personally, it'd be nice to see those three schools stay in the MSL and the league create a bigger school division. Maybe Chillicothe and Logan could be part of that division along with picking off a few lower hanging fruit off the OCC tree. Some other options for the league could be Westfall and Jonathan Alder as replacement parts for the Buckeye if they'd want to come or take a school or two from the Cardinal or Ohio divisions.

Well i dont see near the bashing to ironton like i saw to athens . Why ? Maybe athens saw what was going to happen ahead of time and made future plans . I heard other teams have applied to other leagues and are waiting. 2 for the tvc. But athens got a step ahead . Yes i think more teams will be leaving the seoal. It does cost more in athens county because the have 5 high schools compared to schools like logan who have 1. Iwonder if athens would have 1 high school . It would be an unthinkable power house .
Ironton will have to do whats good for ironton. Just as other teams will be doing . Things will be really changeding in the next 5 years . Sometimes change is good even though it is hard to accept . Good luck Ironton.

Junkie,
Are you serious??? Most people think I post too often.
As for the playoffs. Yes let's get to that. What is Ironton's playoff record since they came back into the league??? Been here two years.
Let's see 0-1. Means you did not even qualify one of the two years. Logan is 0-2. Qualified both years. Won the LEAGUE Championship both years in an undefeated fashion.
Let's see irontron in the last 22 is 11-11. Just another mediocre team in SEO.
There is no way to make the Tigers of today look good. Oh i know they were good once. I always agree to that.

2old let me point something ou to you and I will use your words to do so, you said - "Tom the point is the local people are no judge of talent. They just talk in forums but fail to produce on the field."
Thank you for pointing that out for me so that I could come to the conclusion that you are a local person when it comes to Logan so you are in fact no judge of talent, and you just come and talk on forums but fail to produce on the field.
Like I said your words, not mine.
About Ironton's fans posts 2 yrs ago and last year - Fan is short for fanatic, I would expect no less from fanatics. I expect no less from you when you are talking "smack" regarding Logan since you are a fan of theirs.
As far as my length of time on this forum, yeah I just started posting here short time ago but I have been reading here since the forum started. A few of these folks here know me from the past over on another forum, that the powers that be do not like to be mentioned here, guys like ZV and others. Fine folks who discuss their opinions rationally and have fun doing it. I believe you will find they trust my word and my opinion as I do theirs.

Ace63,
I would not say anything for Zanesville wanting out, but everybody I have listened to many on here and they have stated that Warren Local doesn't want to come back to the TVC? I am not sure about Portsmouth. I don't see them leaving the SEOAL, unless the SOC II finally lets them in. Who are the teams that are waiting for an answer FROM the OTHER LEAGUES?
Who are the 2 for the TVC? I assume Waren Local for the TVC, who is the other team for the TVC?

Several years ago, 15-20, Randy Heath had an article in the Jackson Newspaper regarding leagues in SE Ohio. I don't remember all the details but it involved bringing all leagues together into one big conference..... like the OCC. The schools would then be divided into divisions according to size and proximity for divisional play. His plan included TVC, SEOAL, OVC, SOC and I think even the SVC. Area independents would also be included. I don't remember all the details but IMO it looked like a plan that could work. It would involve people from various conferences working together and agreeing on the divisional breakdowns.

That merger of leagues is under way in NE Ohio and the jury is out on the idea. While competition improves, it causes other problems--travel distance, breaks up rivalry games and cheapens the league chanpionship since it now a division of a league championship. Also, teams are subject to re-assignment in the league in different divisions as enrollments change each two years.
Turmoil.
Turmoil.

ace63,
Chillicothe will stay in the SEOAL unless the League looks like it's going to fold. They have always been faithful to the leagues they have played in, in the past.

Chesire River Valley D4 I think is the only real choice the TVC-Ohio has if they want to go to an 8 team conference. I don't see Stewart Federal Hocking D5 or Glouster Trimble D6 transferring from the TVC-Hocking to the TVC-Ohio Division anytime soon do you

Likewise, I don't ever see Vincent Warren-Local D3 coming back to the TVC. If the MVL offered them a slot I could see Warren-Local jumping at that.
