Well, I can't say too much until Logan proves they can get the job done on the field. Still, where were these guys a couple of years ago in the freshman game when Logan pretty much handled them at Fulton?

are you referring to the 2006 season when lancaster had 17 or 18 players on the freshman team? If so I could see how any team could beat them just by subbing in fresh players. Freshman football really doesn't matter anyways because the last time I checked they don't have playoffs or a title game for freshman football
Also, the last time I checked one grade level of athletes alone dont play the game at the varsity level. It's the best athletes from grade's 9-12 combined playing together.

Well boys, as of this morning 328 was still only lane. It is going to be a real mess at the swamp Friday night. Arrive early and hope for the best. They have started to clean up around the stadium.Dusty hot and dry at the Swamp!

Re: WK 1 Lancaster @ Logan
I was told that ODOT will be opening up 328 for the game on friday to two lanes. It is my understanding that roadway constuction will not be complete so they will be working on it up until friday then opening it to two lanes for the game then redusing it back down to one again to continue construction.
How early do people really plan on getting there? I am thinking abotu taking the afternoon off to tailgate in the parking lot to ensure I have a great spot. burgers and brats on the grill and some ice cold cokes in the cooler to hold me over, anyone interested in joining me?

There is going to be an organized tailgate party under tents by the BYF group.

A lot of people I have talked to are talking about 4:30-5:00.
I know the BYF (Brighten Your Future) is having a tent with food that a lot of people will be visiting as well.
I'm going to leave Columbus around 2, get to Logan and run some errands, and get to the stadium between 4 and 4:30 I think.

well if thats the case I am getting their at 2pm so I get whatever spot I would like in the place
the newly paved lot to the west of the big lot seems ideal I can put my tent up in the grass for shade(or protection from the rain). Besides I need a practice run at tailgating this year before the OSU games start

Good luck to the Chiefs on Friday night. Hopefully they can keep things close and be in a position to win the game in the 4th quarter.

i think most of the purple & white nation are going to hit the parking lot around 4:00pm. i'm and have a reserved parking spot. i was down at the reservation yesterday for tomahawk pictures and the north bound lane of 328 was about 3 ft below the south bound lane.

Lancaster is a very talented and physical team. However, I'm sure the Chiefs are getting tired of hearing they don't even have a chance.

Re: WK 1 Lancaster @ Logan
i don't think the last 2 games where blowouts. dispite the score. they seem to be just 1 step, 1 tackle, 1 yard from keeping pace.
Re: WK 1 Lancaster @ Logan
not blowouts? I am not sure about that. what were the stats like for those games? I know locos will have them but I will see what I can find.

Re: WK 1 Lancaster @ Logan
I think there is no question that the 2006 game was a blow out, IMO.
Lancaster was unstoppable offensively that night, and we couldn't must a whole lot offensively (outside of the first drive where a TD got called back).
Lancaster wasn't forced to punt all night, and ran for over 450 yards in the game, while the Chiefs gained just over 150 TOTAL yards.
2007 was a weird game. I think Logan's defense competed pretty well considering that Logan turned the ball over 5 times. That game was 17-7 in the fourth quarter, and the Gales punched two scores in during the final 8 minutes against a worn out and beat up defense. Our offense couldn't generate ANYTHING, and that mixed with the turnovers killed the defense IMO.
If we were on the winning end, I think you'd consider both games blow outs.

Thanks for the info Locos, I knew the numbers for the 06' game were lopsided but I forgot by how much. That wastruely a very good Lancaster team that year, one of the best in our schools history.
I guess just being one step, one tackle, one yard from keeping pace can make a big difference in a game

Re: logan vs lancaster
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i'll be checking into that. the very week before you all had went into ot, with i think the top rankedd1 school. or so lancaster fans said.lhsfan97 wrote:You're Tiger Bait wrote:UNTIL THEY PROVE THEY CAN COMPETE WITH SOMEBODY THEIR OWN SIZE, LANCASTER BY AS MANY AS THEY WANT.
JUST FOR THE RECORD LAST TIME IRONTON PLAYED LANCASTER , THEY WERE IN TOP 5 D1. WE OF COURSE, DESTROYED THEM.
GO SEOAL, THOUGH.
lancaster top 5 in D1 that year?
I believe the gales recod that season was 3-7. Must have been a week year in D1 in the State of Ohio....LOL
The team from Lancaster that Ironton last beat was one of the worst teams Lancaster has put on a football field in the last 50 years. It was almost as bad as the 97' team that went 1-9 or the 98' team that finished the season at 2-8
Re: WK 1 Lancaster @ Logan
your tiger bait,
That may very well be true. I don't remember that all too well seing as I was only 8 years old. I just remember seing the over all win loss records for those years and I am pretty sure lancaster only went 3-7 that season. I am not even sure there was overtime in high school football then except for playoffs. I know they use to count ties. Does anyone know when OT was instituted in the OHSAA for football?
