=WEEK EIGHT POWER POLL NOW UP=

=POWER POLL= (see 1st page for more detail)
ATHENS
NY
ALEXANDER
TRIMBLE
SOUTHERN
EASTERN
MEIGS
WELLSTON
WATERFORD
MILLER

NY's WIN over Athens has jolted them back into the 2-spot, and closer in Power Points to Athens then anytime this season. A WIN Friday over Ironton, could just send NY into the 1-spot...

Alexander drops one-spot with their loss to Meigs while Trimble jumps another spot, now into 4th with another League Victory in convincing fashion...

Look for some great games this week with:
SOUTHERN vs. TRIMBLE as our GAME OF THE WEEK with Trimble having a chance to clinch their championship &
BELPRE vs. ATHENS being the 'Dogs' chance to claim atleast a share of the TVC-OHIO Crown...
...also in NoN-League look for a great game between NY & Ironton...

Teams Still in the Running for TVC Championships: (see Power Poll for more detail)
TVC-OHIO
ATHENS (7-1)(4-1)
NY (7-1)(4-1)
ALEXANDER (6-2)(2-2)
MEIGS (3-5)(2-2)
WELLSTON (3-5)(2-2)

TVC-HOCKING
TRIMBLE (4-4)(3-0)
SOUTHERN (5-3)(2-1)
EASTERN (4-4)(1-2)
WATERFORD (3-5)(1-2)
MILLER (2-6)(1-2)

****Belpre, Vinton, Federal Hocking all eliminated from Championship Contention****
***Any 2-loss team to lose this week will be eliminated***
**An Athens Win, will eliminate (Alexander, Meigs & Wellston) from Championship Contention**
*A Trimble Win, will clinch and eliminate all (Southern, Eastern, Waterford & Miller)*

let's see
Div. 5 beats undefeated Div. 2

Now both teams have the same record and the Div. 2 school is at #1

This poll has lost all credibility!!!!!!!!!

Just keep this in mind. The Poll looks at an opponent as a number. Piketon was (0-1) coming into the game with Nelsonville-York and Federal Hocking was (0-1) coming into the game with Athens. Now both teams are (0-2) and both Athens & NY are (2-0). The Poll is based on a points system I will try to get up so everyone can see.

Like I said I am trying to be unbias with this Poll as it is all in good fun and it is something to do (since my playing days are long gone :) ) but I know when I did the points for this Week that Athens points for and points against were giving them the slight edge over NY but NY was close...

That should clear up so of the questions you buckeyes fans are having...
The Poll doesn't care what your school name is, your size, your coach or any of that...
It has been this way all year long, it is about a teams play, and the Power Points they earn for their play...

The Point System method was used to prevent bias like the BCS on factors like Team A beats Team B who is in the Big Ten so they are not as good as the SEC team and so on...Leagues were taken out of the factor, and the results are one simple number teams have earned throughout the year by winning, where they win, points for, points against, winning consecutively, shutting out an opponent, or being shut out...it is all on a scale, that was found pre-season, used to calculate all scores, and the result is the Power Poll...yes, teams, fans will be upset with some of the rankings but you can't please everyone...

And mind you, I haven't played football for a while now, and the playing days are long gone...I simply wanted to do something with this years football season, something I could update as the season went, and then see how it unravels...an experiment if you will...

Remember this is all in good fun, and these Polls, unlike the BCS, do not actually factor in who wins anything...That's why you play the game...
Good Luck to All TVC Teams the rest of the Way...

I for one think that this poll IS a bit biased.

I think that the size and quality of an opponent should be a factor. Just my HONOST opinion.

N-Y will have played
........ 7 opponents above their division
........2 opponents equal to their division
........ 1 opponent below their division

Athens will have played
........0 opponents above their division
........0 opponents equal to their division
........10 opponents below their division

Bottom line Athens could win the League, Win your poll, Go 10 & 0 and The playoffs would still be a QUESTIONMARK. N-Y on the other hand, could go 7 & 3, lose the league, lose your stinking poll, and playoffs be a QUESTIONMARK OR could have gone 10 & 0 and hosted a playoff game!!!

THEM NELSONVILLE-YORK BUCKEYES ARE NUMBER 1 IN MY POLL AND THERE IS NO QUESTIONMARK IN THAT.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

you got your ass kicked by alexander. shut up you dont deserve to be #1. you won a game by an extra point against an opponent that played much worse than they usually do, and you wouldn'tve even had that without a couple of shaky calls that kept drives going. stop complaining and focus on ironton

NYBUX, if you want a poll based on your criteria, then make yourself a Poll on your criteria. I have made this Poll now for 8 weeks, using the same standards. I haven't changed a thing. Why now do you have a problem with it? However, like I mentioned earlier this is 'For Fun' for everyone to read up on and maybe to attract some people's attention to the TVC and what is happening in it this year.

If I were you, I would take 'The Dudes' advice and begin focusing on Ironton. They will be playing their hearts out for their Coach as he goes for the state record. You might just want to focus on that and what NY can do to not only win the game, but get the TVC some respect...no ill will to you about your comments, but like I stated this is not that kinda Power Poll...just try to enjoy it for a couple more Weeks...

When you have teams 1 2 and 3 2 loses and 3 beats 1 i think 1 goes to the top .thats just commonsense

questionmark, I can't speak for the great NYBUX, but I believe he is implying that your very well put together poll needs some tweaking. It may be made up of these certain numbers you post about, but it appears to fall short of perfection. In not being perfect, I believe a slight alteration in one direction or another may be needed.

1. Equal records in the same league

2. NY won head-to-head

3. NY has more computer points (used to demonstrate tougher schedule)

4. NY had to travel to #3 Alexander, and to #1 Athens (Both teams rankings at time of game)

5. Athens played #2 Nelsonville York and #3 Alexander at home

If NY had two or more losses, then Athens should be the number one team in the power poll. Perhaps there should be a portion of the teams points that loses the game that goes to the winner of the head-to-head. I'm not sure what changes need to take place, but I am not so blind to notice when a change needs to occur.
