Warren is doing well and I'll be the first to congratulate them, but with their easy non-league schedule, it's like this every year. They get out to a good start. Marietta has some things to work on. quote]

i just love when arrogant people like you run your mouth about warren and our "easy" schedule.
warren is doing amazingly well this year being undefeated which we havent done before with
our "easy" schedule, so i don't think this is an excuse to put down the warriors. and the win tonight
against marietta team should prove it. warren had no excuses if we lost tonight, the only one being
we didn't play our hardest. which we did. and if marietta was the better team they could have
pulled together, shuffled there spots a little, come out to the warrior stadium and beat us , but they
didn't and that's a tough loss. but it happens. QUIT PUTTING WARREN DOWN, were doing good
this year get over it.

Warren in having a good season and I want to be the first to say great job Friday. Warren did what they had to do, and they got the win. First time beating Marietta in 7 years. The Warren kids wanted it more. Mareitta put the best team it had on the field and came up short. Ill say nothing to take away from the fact that Warren won.

I will say this, Warren you are 4-0, there is no reason to think you cant go 10-0. I sure hope you do. Don’t get over confident, play hard no matter who it is. Logan, Jackson, whoever. I hope Warren goes out and Wins the league.

Marietta needs to do a little sole searching. Injuries or not, Marietta has to find a way to win. This game was winnable till the late in the 4th. Marietta has to get there fire relit. The players should challenge themselves to fight till the very end and get some wins this season.

Good luck to both Washington county teams.

Great high school football atmosphere last night! I think some people had to park in Bartlett . . .

Congrats to the Warriors. 4-0 is a fantastic start. People finally have to start believing. The players on the team have worked very, very hard and deserve the success.

Eric Mason with 2 picks last night, and could have had one or two more! Eric has worked hard all 4 years but has never had a lot of attention. He's always been a solid player, but was always playing at positions with lots of depth. He never made a fuss, he just kept working. Games like last night's make that effort worthwhile. That's a lesson for all the players who think they aren't getting enough playing time as underclassmen.

Nice catch by the Freshman Andrew Vincent for the big first down on Warren's first drive.

Nice play by the Soph Joey Lane all night.

The catch by Venham for the TD was super.

Here is a link to the local television station's highlights. Click "Segment 1" and check out the "Play of the Night" for some nifty slow motion footage:

Marietta has some wins in them. They are beat-up, but need to gather themselves. They can still have a successful season. I would love to see them beat South next week!

Warren needs to keep taking care of business.

Next up . . . Point Pleasant.

Apparently you didn't read where he said Warren is doing good this year and he'll be the first to congratulate them....thats not putting them down if you ask me. And fact are facts, on a yearly basis Warrens schedule is easier than the schedule that Marietta plays. That does not mean Warren is less of a team, you just play easier teams. Obviously last night Warren was the better team, both teams played hard Warren just has a lot of talent this year and Marietta had a lot of injuries, not an excuse, a fact. Warren still may have had the better team without the Marietta injuries, but one will never know. And about Westbrook being arrogant, he knows a little something about the game, in case you forgot Marietta beat Warren all four years that Westbrook was there.

Marietta has Gallia and Jackson on the schedule correct?

I think they will really struggle against Parkersburg South, they are still a few players down and South is gaining confidence. Could be a real interesting matchup.

Jackson and Gallipolis are beatable as is Portsmouth.
Marietta needs to keep plugging, see if they can get to 5 wins.

real pleased with how Warren ran the ball, and protected the qb last night. Good playcalling and good execution. Point Pleasant is coming off a real nice win on the road, they still have a couple good running backs and tight end who can stretch the field. Warren better be on its A game, enjoy the victory, but refocus on the task at hand.

etta09, Marietta was never in the game last night, Warren dominated throughout and the score doesnt justify how one sided it truely was. Marietta scored their two late 4th quarter scores on a bunch of 2nd teamers. You can complain about injuries it wouldn't have mattered in the least way. Warren is very talented/deep this year and a healthy Marietta squad may have kept it closer but thats about it. "We'll never know" is an inaccurate statement. Congrats to the Warren defense continue to impress. Wheeler was held to 31 yards rushing.

Where in my statement did I claim the Marietta was in the game last night? I never said that they were. Actually if you read I said that warren was the better team last night and I also said they have a lot of talent this year. Warren dominated last night and I have never denied that. Its hard to set up a running game or stop a running game when a teams entire offensive and defensive line is out. Marietta had several key players out who would have helped them to establish a solid running game. Never claimed they would win, just said they would have competed. Truth is we will never know. Thats a true statement so it seems like a pretty adequate statement to me. Not saying Marietta would have won, it would have been close. Not once have I said that Marietta should have won that game or said that Warren shouldn't have. Westbrook and I repeatedly said that Warren has a lot of talent this year. Seems like a complement to me....so take the complement if you want. If not just continue to assume that everything said is negative against you

ALL the kids well last night, but the one I noticed that did an excellent job on defense was Justin Hilverding. He turned everything in side and did not allow a single running play get outside (around) him all night, except for the TD after the opening kick off brain fart.

This football team continues to meet every challenge on their schedule...We Warrior fans are so proud of the players and coaches who have worked so hard to turn the corner on this program....As far as the schedule goes, I don't think having Belpre and Morgan on it constitutes a weak schedule, colleges routinely schedule a couple of smaller schools a year...besides we went many years with 0 or 1 loss that you better believe we downgraded a bit....almost every school goes through ups and downs and manages their schedule accordingly....but these Warriors have nothing to apologize for, they are a dedicated group of youngsters playing sound hard nosed football and having some fun.....the playmakers are making plays and the nonames (line) are doing a great job....holding Wheeler to 31 yards seems impossible but it happened.....bring on Point Pleasant and may the best team win!....

Ok, now that I have had a night to think about all that went down. I still want to congratulate Warren. hardrock21, I am having a hard time remembering when b4 4 min left in the game when Marietta was never in the game. We did score first. Then it was 21-7 till the 4th. I am sorry but Warren don’t need a fan like you. If I am guessing you are a student and will try and trash me after this and say how stupid I am. You go for it, and if you are not a student I feel very sorry you. 99.9% of the Warren faithful are respectful and are not getting over confident. This is a question I have to ask and I would ask if I were the biggest warren fan. I hope Warren does not slip up any, 10-0 is what I want for them. But if they go 9-1 or 8-2 is there any chance they go to the play-offs. 2-14 are combined opponents record as of now. Not many play-off points in there to date. Please I am not saying anything about Warrens schedule, I am just wondering. Please only answer this last question if you understand the point system.

Once again i guess saying apples are apples is considered INAPPROPRIATE by bigcat. Once Warren got rolling in the first quarter, NO Marietta wasn't in it. They couldn't move the ball in any fashion and that is a fact. They were going to mount a 4 touchdown comeback when they had 50 yards in offense all night till that point, the score being 28-7??? Who is being overconfident?? You want to torque a Warren fan have a Marietta fan complain about all the injuries and how the outcome would have been different if they had a few players back...then you get a Warren fan going. Warren's playoff picture will play itsself out and they are definately in the hunt. Marietta isn't because of overscheduling. Losing to big name schools doesn't earn playoff points.

every single marietta post on here has congratulated warren and said that they are a great team and played well last night and deserved to win. saying we still had a chance to comeback is not overconfident it is being a good fan and not giving up on your team when you are down. injuries are talked about in football all the time. what is the difference with this game and talking about them? its a known thing in football that when you have injuries to key players it does affect the outcome. i am not saying we would have won because i know warren has a great team, but it could have been closer and we could have had more success setting up a running game and defending against warrens great running game. warren had excuses for loosing every year the past 7 years. marietta fans have admitted that they were outplayed and that warren has a good team this year and have basically been positive towards our rivals. i would think if anything that would be good sportsmanship. we know that warren ran the ball all over marietta and they successfully shut down our leading rusher. congratulations. nothing negative has been said against how warren played last night so quit your complaining and be glad that we are acknowledging the fact that we were outplayed and arent on here making excuses about poor officiating and such like some people would do. take the positive comments and run with them. quit complaining
