Hell, there are three of the riverrat teams down here that have played in a state title game in football in Ironton, Wheelersburg and Portsmouth West. How many has Logan been in again, I think I missed it somewhere. It doesn't matter what you do in the regular season, all that matters is those 5 games after the regular season. Win all of those and then you'll gain a little respect from the river teams.

Let's see, we're ALLfull of crap, we have no class and you throw in a curse word to boot. Yep, we got a long way to go to measure up to your level of class. Look, I don't have a problem with Ironton or the vast majority of their posters. A great program and a proud tradition-congratulations. I certainly don't have a problem with any of the other teams on the river. How is it you can use them to beat Logan over the head. I'm a fan of Logan and all I say is this current team is one of the best that they have ever produced. I'd say it ranks right up there with ANY of the other teams from any single year from SE Ohio regardless of where they finish postseason. And I enjoy watching them play every time they take the field. And I reserve the right to be proud of them. I don't need any validation from Ironton or any other program. Good luck to Ironton Friday night and in the future. I hope you have post-season success and win a state title. I'd just like to see someone from there say the same for Logan.

Losing to Ashland cannot help the psyche of the Ironton players knowing THIS week its the Logan Chieftains. If you cant beat a good KY team what makes you think you can beat a good Ohio team, right?

yabba, absolutly. For the playoffs? No, no replacement to make them advance in the playoffs. As far as the regular season schedule yes there are replacements. This team is very deep. They'd figure something out. My guess would be we'd see Mays playing some QB in running situations. This team doesnt need Angle to win the league.

Coach Lutz needed 7 wins at the beginning of the season, Logan is only the 5th game of the season. A little simple math here 7-5=2, so it wasn't going to be against Logan to begin with.

Good point(s). I remember an Ironton team (82 I believe), that many Ironton faithful regard as possibly the best team ever. However, only 2 teams made the playoffs in each region then and Ironton didn't even make the playoffs.

I'd just like to see someone from there say the same for Logan.

I hope that as many teams from SE Ohio (not just SEOAL teams) advance in the playoffs as far as possible and that, at least one, they win the title. I hate constantly hearing about how good Cincinnati teams and N. Ohio teams are.

SO, good luck to Logan and I truly hope they win a state title.................

but only if 2old isn't allowed to post on here after that, b/c I just couldn't handle it!!! ;-) ;-)

BTW,

Logan 34
Ironton 28 I HOPE I'm proven wrong :122248 :122248

EVERY team has those few posters that are arrogant and cocky..if you want to base a teams fans on those few..then..that's your problem..as for getting respect from any of the river teams..do you think the Chieftains care about that? Do you think they go into each week playing trying to gain respect of teams like Ironton and the other river teams? Uhhh..I'm gonna say NO..respect the Chiefs..or hate the Chiefs..they do not care..we love our team through thick and thin and no matter what happens..WE will be there to cheer on our Chiefs..I know I personally could care less about having anyone's respect.

I'd love to see Logan win a D2 state football championship, this season! Why wouldnt anyone from ironton want that. Everyone from Southern Ohio should want that. Outside of Wheelersburg, Nelsonville and Ironton, has anyone from South Eastern ohio ever won a state football title? When was the last one? 1989?

I would think that Logan would sincerely care about the river teams. If it werent for the river teams, who would you play? Columbus must be too far?

Apparently 85inside doesn't know his geography very well.

Let's look at Logan's schedule:

Games against "Columbus teams" = 3

Games against "River Rats" = 2

And all three "Columbus" teams were scheduled by choice, only one of the "River Rats" is a non-league game.

When Logan was D1 in 2000, we played Westerville South in the first round of the playoffs. We had to put up with the usual "hillbilly" jokes; you know-Got Teeth? Well, we pounded that team that night and went on to beat a really good Pickerington team the next week (before the school split). And you know what we heard when we were leaving the stadium after those games? I can't beleive we lost to a bunch of hillbillies! So Ironton, we all got a chip on our shoulders for all the teams from SE Ohio. Why don't you support us like we would you when we make it to the playoffs? Gosh, we spend all our energy beating each other when we should band together after our battles. Go SE Ohio!!!!!!!

Oh I know my geography. I know where Desales, Brookhaven, Watterson, all the Hilliard schools, etc. etc.

Duncan Hines couldnt have made a better schedule for Logan this year.

Why is it assumed we dont support Logan in the playoffs? Sure the "sample" is very thin of the times we had the opportunity to support you all, but support you we did. Again, I really hope that Logan has success in the 2009 playoffs.

Hmmmm...... compared to Ironton which schedules 2 SMALLER schools in the non-league mixed with 2 out of state schools?

Please.

Lancaster just beat a top 10 team in Division 1 and Pickerington North lost by 4 to the top team in Division 1, Region 3.

Those are BIGGER schools who both could end up in the playoff mix.

Once again, Logan's "weak" schedule has garnered them the most 1st level points (which is based on the size of your opponents) in their region and good enough for the most playoff points in SE Ohio.

Oh I'm sorry..isn't HALF of Ironton's schedule filled with the SAME teams that Logan play? Of course..Logan also played a Lancaster team..who just managed to beat Pick Central..and a very tough Pick North team...and still have a tough Zanesville team to play. Along with undefeated Jackson and Warren...yes...that is SURELY such a cupcake schedule. :122248 Don't worry..you can get more KY teams next year..just make sure they aren't as good as Ashland. :122245

Yes..C'bus IS too far..for the C'bus teams. That doesn't mean jack about Logan needing the river teams respect.

Ashland is a school the size of Logan. So to play up wouldnt go too far.

As for week one, you Logan fans have select memory. Lancaster, much like Ironton, has dominated the all time series in that one.

GoChefs, you are struggling pal.

The best you can come up with is the Chefs..yet..I'M struggling???? And your correct..Lancaster has dominated the series..but guess what..UNLIKE Ironton..Lancaster realizes that past doesn't mean ANYTHING..they realize they got beat this year..and they congratulate the Chiefs and move on..they don't talk about how 'yeah..you won..but we still beat you in 1953.' Cause the Gales realize that doesn't matter! And yes..Ashland may be the size of Logan..but guess what...it's still Kentucky football..so..just like the Tigers have lately against the Chiefs...your struggling! :122249
