Geez if Burg does make it through they more than likely will be looking dead into the eyes of the Freddies. Hopefully they get a better result than last time, though that was a hell of a comeback.

But Hopefully they make it to find out.
Bring your A+++ Game for the next few weeks!
One game at a time though! I ain't looking on just thinking, what if?

I suspect that the Pirate fans will fill the visitor side seating. However I think the home side would support both Burg and MC fans.

This game is at the same place that Maretta High school plays. We were just there a few weeks ago and the stadium will remind you of Portsmouths old stadium. Get there early and park along the wall on the visitors side.

GOOD LUCK BURG!!!

Here's a link for a webcast for those who can't make it to Marietta. This link will give you access to the Caldwell vs Fredericktown game as well...

There is a multitude of ways (all state routes) that you can take besides I-77 North to SR 78 at Caldwell, but they all take about an hour, or more. Mileage varies from about 48 miles to 60 miles one way, depending on which way you go.

I've made it in less than an hour driving up SR 821 to SR 145 to SR 78, knowing the road very well and driving a fast car  . None of the state route drives is for a novice, or the timid :122245

So, for all the burg fans, yes, you shaved about an hour off your drive with the game being moved to Marietta.[/

shaved a half an hour off?
so ur saying woodsfield is 3-3hr15min away?
cause its only 2hrs to 2hr 15 minutes to marietta, and dont question that cause that fact.
dont care how many trips you have taken. if it takes you longer you drive to slow.
I've never been to woodsfield. I'm just passing info on that is from ppl that actually live there and go by woodsfield all the time, and they say its about a half hour longer. so i will believe my source.

Anywho
Burg loses this game do to passing DEF,

Sorry I hope they win though!

Neutron, why do you keep saying this? Who have they played this year that lit them up with the pass? St. Joe's? Valley? Portsmouth? Just who is it????? Yeah, St. Joes threw for over 200 yards, but I believe that Burg did win that game and it was the pass defense that got them two TD's, so for you to keep saying that they will get beat by a good passing team is mind boggling. Unless MC has a great line, Burg's defense will not give him much time to set up and throw. If he stands in the pocket to long he will pay. Someone said that he will take off running like Oesch did in the Minford game. Don't see it happening. Burg has made some very nice adjustments and some changes since that game and it has worked out very well since then.

I do think this will be a close game with hopefully the Burg pulling it out.

ozzie is right, if you are the visiting team, you will want to get there early and park on the visiting side, you can walk right into the stadium a few fet from your car, lots of people park at the shopping center right across the street on the visitors side.

if you park on the home side, and have to go to the vistors side,,be prepared for a walk 8)

but the field is very nice.......

Good luck Pirates.

Don't read all the crap about how you are going to blow this team out. They are in the playoffs for a reason and that reason is that they are a very good team. Play your game and you should be fine.

Hopefully I'll be able to listen to it somehow. Anyone now of someone that can fly down to MB and pick me up Friday afternoon and then take me back down after the game. :-D J/K

Yabittiydabbitydoobey, you can get on the internet and watch it on the link above in the post thread. Most decent hotels have a computer in the lobby now (of course if your staying at the Rammit Inn, they might not)

Don't know much about Monroe Central, but for some reason I got a bad feeling about this one for the burg...I think they have the talent to go very far, I just don't think they utilize it well enough on offense...Just my opinion...but I'm an Soc fan and wish them the best...we have 4 area teams in the playoffs for region 19 this year, and I personally would love to see Burg and Minford for the Region

A team would have to have a very strong/quick "D" to stop arguably the best backfield in the SOC. They haven't thrown the ball much but when you are gaining over 400yds on the ground, who gives a rats arse. Besides, has anyone stopped the pass to the big wide receiver, Stegman? I think the Burg makes a huge statement in this game and I look for them to play in the regional finals.

I agree with you, but personally I like what Lewis did combining the Midline and the Spread, the formations and plays he used all seemed to be effective he had a really good offensive scheme, of course Woodward isn't Lewis, Woodward is more defensive oriented, and I think he is a good coach, espicially defensively, and as a player you should buy into the system regardless of what it is, because it is what they think will work the best...I doubt they average 400 yards rushing in the playoffs, but I do think they could go far...like I said just have a bad feeling, but I have been wrong before plenty, espicially this year

I guess this is just a nicer way of saying what I have been trying to explain!
I just went further in saying that the passing game is not there. OFF/DEF sides.
But I followed up with EVERY post I hope they win, but don't think they will.

Very nice points about Burg giving up passing yards and how much they could handle the line.
I hope this stands true and would love to see them move on.
But it is a dangerous MC team and I have heard they pass the ball, so I hope I'm wrong and Burg shows dominance.

The only one that has stopped the pass play to Stegman is Burg themselves. He has been open almost everytime he goes down the field. Tyler just needs to get the ball to him in stride and it will be a TD. If they can hit that pass play it will more than likely open up the running game even more.
