No way Waverly can handle this crowd. If you don't get there early you won;t get a seat. Burg will have the home side so the ZT people will be mostly standing since the visitor side at Waverly isn't very big. At least not the last time I was there. Portsmouth would have been a better venue for a Regional Championship.

Discussions are currently under way and a meeting is planned for tomorrow to make necessary logistical improvements for this event. Possibly looking at roping off the nearby government center as well as a church property to be used for additional parking. Shuttles may be available to bring people to the front gate. But honestly it would only be a five minute or so walk.

Also considering opening up some areas around the field where people can stand. Rest assured Waverly is going to make this a pleasant experience for those who attend this game. Several good restaurants in town for those that come early or want to eat after the game. All located on US 23.

The restrooms in the next door basketball gym will also be open.

Look for this event to also spur discussions for adding additional visitor seating for next year. With Waverly's central location and new turf field there's a good possibility we will be hosting playoff games in the future.

The home bleachers are as big as anywhere, minus Jackson.
As mentioned, Waverly will be going the extra mile to make this an enjoyable playoff experience. Portsmouth would NOT have been any better.
Hopefully Waverly will be able to make an expansion to the brand new visitors bleachers soon.

At any rate, I'm just excited to still be playing in week 13 and also to get to see Waverley new turf!

If discussions about making room for people to stand are occurring, they know it was a bad call to place the game at Waverly. Nothing wrong with the facility or people at Waverly, it's simply too small of a facility for a week 13 game.

I am glad to see Jackson playing on, but I think Jackson would have been the best facility for this game

Some people would gripe if they handed out gold bars at the gate. Line them up and let's play. I guarantee you the boys would go to California to play if they had too!

No doubt Jackson is much, much bigger as far as seating, no one can argue against that. Seating alone doesn't make it a better choice or better playoff experience however. And to say it was a "bad call" is ridiculous. Make the judgements afterwards!
Waverly has proven their ability to host OHSAA tournaments by doing an awesome job with boys and girls basketball for years, volleyball, girls D3 soccer districts this year and Friday nights Zane Trace/Alexander game.

Just FYI: All the OHSAA was waiting on at Waverly was turf. They kept in communication and up to date with what was going on and after seeing the facility completed this summer with the amazing turf it was just a matter of the right match-ups.

Waverly works out great for the Southern Ohio teams. Before now, this could have been in South Columbus.

So will the Burg get the home side stands or as I have heard it will be determined by the school with the most presale tickets?

Pretty balanced. QB is the money maker. Get to him and we can shut that down. Mixing coverages and good times blitzing will cause headaches for ZT. They have a decent defense but not noteworthy. Burg WILL score their fair share.
