I don't know what you are talking about. Never said they struggled against the run? Just with speed in the open field and kick returns. Wilson had a couple big returns and a swng pass that he took deep. If you have been to the games this year its obvious we struggle on kick offs. Struggling with speed in the open field does not mean the run. Ironmen have done very well against the run. But every now and then let one break. Play off time you can't have that, but I'm sure they will be fine. Hopefully we can stop the pass this week, that's what I'm nervous about.

I would expect if anything Winchester would see more time on offense than defense. He brings diversity to the offense.
Having said that, I remember another Jackson QB who tore his ACL completely and played the next week wearing a brace. Played quite well. The decision is simply when to have surgery and can you deal with the pain.

First off congrats to the Ironmen on their regular season accomplishments I couldnt be more proud of this team. 2nd its great to have Kip back and i feel that even if hes not able to compete at 100% just having his presence and being suited up next to his team mates is gonna be a huge morale boost. Im am not gonna pretend to know alot about this Eaton team we are about to play except for the few statements that have been previously mentioned so im not about to make an asinine comment or prediction about how these teams will match up.... but watching these Ironmen week in and week out i will say this... rain or shine Jackson will show up, they are gonna play 4 qtrs of physical smashmouth football and their gonna leave it all on the field .
Local forecast Saturday in Eaton .... THERES A SOUTHERN STORM ROLLING IN!!!!!

Really, I heard it was going to be partly sunny.. LOL..
Kidding aside, I think this will be a great game. I too am anxious to see how Eaton will do against a strong smashmouth running game. We have faced quite a few running teams this year, but the Jackson O-line is the biggest we have faced. I am sure this will be a good game... On offense, these two teams are very opposite. On defense, we seem to be similar.

Iv'e been to every game this season haha. But Ive seen what you mean. They have some players on that kickoff that I questionIronmenTradition wrote:I don't know what you are talking about. It's not really the players on the kickoff team, it's that we can't kick it past the 30 and no hang time.
Re: D3 R12 #5 Jackson (9-1) @ #4 Eaton (10-0)
I remember when Coach Hall was hired at Jackson, and the negativity rolled in from all over (not from the Jackson faithful) southern Ohio. I've always had a lot of respect for Andy and his Dad, and I'm tickled for the success they've had. Good luck Ironmen!

Uhhm was just on yappi and they say Jackson has no speed! And they are judging that by videos from last year haha.
Re: D3 R12 #5 Jackson (9-1) @ #4 Eaton (10-0)
Inonman07... You do not report the facts very well... What was said is they have good speed but I believe that Eaton has better overall speed. And that was not based on last years videos.... It was 3 or 4 videos that I viewed from this year. One of them being the Wellston video. I even said it was hard to get a perspective.Ironmannut07 wrote:Uhhm was just on yappi and they say Jackson has no speed! And they are judging that by videos from last year haha.
I believe that over on Yappi, you accused us of saying Jackson was small... No one said that they are small and no one said they were slow. You have a big imagination.
This is what was said for the record:
Quote
"I don't think ANYONE said that Jackson is small. They have a lot of size. They do have a few guys that appear to be very fast as well especially the 2 running backs. Again, this is just what I have seen on a couple of highlight videos, so it is hard to get perspective. But I think Eaton has better overall speed."

So, don't spread rumors that have no truth...

I won't even begin to try to make a prediction on this game! All I will say is that it has been a pure joy to watch this team play this year. The coaches have done a fine job preparing these boys and then making adjustments as needed. I just hope that I get to make the trip to Eaton to see this game on Saturday, and if the final score favors the Ironmen, I won't be surprised and will get another week to watch our boys play. If the final score goes the other way, I won't be too disappointed because of the enjoyment that I have had watching them this season. Go Ironmen!!

Is the Jackson band going to make the trip also does anybody know?
Re: D3 R12 #5 Jackson (9-1) @ #4 Eaton (10-0)
I've seen Eaton's film against Monroe and i seen a lot of things that made me feel better about this game going in and a lot of things that make me worry a little.
I was pleased to hear that Eaton hasn't played a team thats going to line up and play power football. I'm sure thats going to be our game plan going in. Eaton didn't look very physical against Monroe, then again it was a 42-7 Blowout. Eaton's defense looked pretty good however, no disrespect to Eaton, but Monroe looked like they had never blocked before. There were a lot of plays where Monroe didn't communicate up front and Eaton's Defensive Line were simply unblocked and they made plays in the backfield. I can assure that this will not be the case on Saturday Night. Our linemen are Big, strong and physical and maybe scariest of all, they want this more than anything they've ever played for. There will not be any plays off by the Front 5 on Saturday night. And Coaches Andy Hall, Doug Wooten and Larry Hall will have these guys ready to play, just as they have the past 9 weeks. A lot of the success that we give to the running backs needs to go to the Offensive line. Even though Klay Arthur's yards after contact are through the roof, he's had his share of gaping holes as well.
Eaton looked to be very athletic, finese if you would. They ran the ball well against Monroe, and again, not taking anything away from a good Eaton football team, but Monroe didn't want anything to do with Eaton. Their RB (#8) doesn't look to be real big, but he runs the ball hard. Eaton's QB didn't do too much, but he didn't really have to in this contest. I did see a tremendous catch in the back of the endzone by a wide receiver. A well thrown ball as well. The Eaton defense started out with a lot of energy, but they seemed to lose it early. Neither team (Eaton or Monroe) played with a lot of emotion, although that is DEFINITELY subject to change Saturday Night.
There are a lot of things one film can tell and lie about. It told me that Eaton doesn't play very physical for very long. It showed me that they are very athletic and they play a different style of offense than we are used to seeing.
By looking at this film, one would think they don't throw the ball well. According to my sources, their QB has thrown for nearly 1,700 yards. Thats as good as we have seen all season. In this film, they seemed to play down to Monroe's level. Against Jackson, I'm sure Eaton will come out ready to play.
I'm highly anticipating this game on Saturday night. Those who complain about the environment, you won't even notice when that ball is kicked off on Saturday. You'll just be happy to be there. The environment, to me anyway, sounds like it will be a bit of a reminder of what it was like to play at the old field here in Jackson. I can't wait!
I must say, the Eaton fans on this site seem to be VERY respectful towards a Southeastern Ohio football team. That shows a lot of class. Anyone who remembers the sickening display of disrespect the Kings Mills fans and coaches had towards us is truly greatful for having to play against a community with so much class. So from X-Factor5, thank you for the respect you have showed this little town in Southeastern Ohio. I'm sure we will show you that same respect back.
Should be a great game, I'll have a prediction later in the week.
Go Ironmen!
