Being a much bigger school we would give Wheelersburg major computer pouints if they should win but heres another thought for them to ponder......
DROP IRONTON FROM THE SCHEDULE and pick up Ashland. They would win probably more often than they do against Ironton and a win over Ashland gives an Ohio team MAJOR computer points..... much more tha a rare win over Ironton gives them....with the way they figure the computer points just look at the points Ironton gets over the course of the year with a win over Ashland, a DII school. Ashland, being no more competition and probably not as much as Ironton is year in and year out would figure to be a much better pick for wheelersburgs schedule than Ironton.
Just look at the big leap Ironton just made from last week with the win over Ashland.... from about 3rd or 4th place to a COMMANDIND lead over St. Clairesville who also won but is now in second place and by a full 2 points....
Just a thought..
I agree 100% about the idea of picking up Ashland in Ironton's place if the Tomcats schedule has the opening. I think it's a great idea!!
As for tonight's game, I've gone back and forth a few times. I think I like Burg's chances. I think Jackson is going to move the ball, put up points and be difficult for Burg to gain yards/field position on at times. But, I like the resiliency of this Pirates team and honestly, I think they'll find a way to move the ball in the second half and be in the game down the stretch. If they are able to do that, I think Burg will win the coaching battle and the game as long as the kids execute. Regardless of winner, I think it's going to be a pretty good football game and well worth the price of admission.
