Demaniac. I don't know about minford previously. But our pass defense has been horrendous in the first part of the season. Except for a couple breakdowns it was a lot better tonight

Sideman: Were u standing next to Minfords old head coach n his old asst who's now a scout now for Wheelersburg? This is verbatim to what they said after going to the shotgun in the red zone and fumbling, when the time before you take it in from 15 out using the Wing-T behind those OTs...?

West may move up into the top 10 with that win as so far Fairland and Zane Trace are the only teams that have won from position 6 thru 19.

South Point Lost
Union Local Lost
Ironton Lost
Portsmouth Lost
Northwest Lost
Wellston Lost
Waverly Lost
Alexander Lost
Adena Lost
Westfall Lost
Northridge Lost
Southeastern Lost

Gary Bailey? No I never saw him. But if he said it he's right. It doesn't make sense

No it wasn't Bailey. 2 coaches
after him. I also agree with you and them, there's no continuity to the Wing-T system.

Zane Trace played Adena so one of them will lose
No scores on Westfall, Northridge or Southeastern
West needs to win 3 of 4. Will be difficult but not impossible

Your right anything is possible, but a very low probability.

There were a lot of dropped passes for Minford thru the first two quarters, especially on screens, I didn't think Minford QB was throwing the ball well, again, I wonder how much he has had to throw the first 5 games. Prob not much. Irwin wasnt passing very well either. Leading the receivers to far, or behind them. And they were open

This is high school. You can't recruit unless you're ironton or ursuline lol
You have to adopt to the personel you have. Minford is running the wrong scheme. Its not very often you have size like that. Put them on the same side with an I formation and run leads and iso's. Would be next to impossible for anyone locally to stop

But that pass to Bricker was a 1st half key to the game. What a great catch and seemed to change the momentum!

That's just one more underdog win and take care of business against two teams we should beat to go 6-4. Very possible

Minford averages about 4 passes a game. The wing t is the most successful offense in high school football. Daniels scored 28 points tonight againsy a good defense.

Endzone_Warrior wrote:Minford was trying to pass probably based on what they have seen on film. West can’t handle a good passing team, they just aren’t built to stop it. Minford isn’t built to pass, but early on Minford had success with wide receivers wide open. If West can’t figure out a way to defend in the secondary the Valley and Burg games are going to be very long nights.
Valley is still a primarily running team. They throw the ball when they need to but prefer to keep it on the ground. I think West has a legitimate shot at beating Valley. They will need to play another game just like this one to do it but I feel they are capable of it.

What??? Continuity doesn't mean recruiting, it means sticking to one system in this context. Meaning,
when Minford stuck with the ground game and ran the Wing-T they were successful with the off tackle belly plays. And they needed to keep running behind those big boys.

Ok I guess my point is this....West and Minford played tough last year, just the same as this year, but West coming out on top this year. Valley beat West 30-0 and now all of a sudden theres a good chance that West will go in and upset Valley at home...as much as I’d like to, I just can’t see that happening logically.

Irwin grew up a lot tonight. He's getting more confident. He's really coming up on run support at safety. He's getting tougher and that's what you need from your quarterback. Your right that was the play of the game. And that naked boot touchdown run looked like a vintage wheelersburg quarterback the way he sold the fake. Great

There are a more passes he can and needs to complete. It comes with confidence

You also have to take into account how many more wins can those teams get. Some of those teams may only win one more game if that.
