I’m pretty sure Gallia had the first chance at a new stadium built by holzer but wouldn’t change the name of the field so holzer threw their money at Jackson

What does that even mean? That is a crazy statement. And I agree I don’t think anyone cares anymore.Imthedaddy91 wrote: Sun Jul 22, 2018 3:58 am I’m pretty sure Gallia had the first chance at a new stadium built by holzer but wouldn’t change the name of the field so holzer threw their money at Jackson

Memorial Field has flooded at least once a year since it was built, everyone in Gallia County knows this. From what I heard, the track at the new GAHS was built too small for a football field to be in the middle, and now there is no money to rip it up and do it again.

This makes no sense. Tracks are all a standard size around. How can it be built too small? Sounds like bs to me.Rvfan wrote: Mon Jul 23, 2018 4:16 pm Memorial Field has flooded at least once a year since it was built, everyone in Gallia County knows this. If the track is too small there must be a lot of wrong times from a lot of meets held there.BlizzardMan wrote: Tue Jul 31, 2018 11:12 amThis makes no sense. Tracks are all a standard size around. Look at the track around memorial field. That was a small track. If I recall when I ran there in the it seemed like the mile was a extra half lap or more.Geronimo wrote: Tue Jul 31, 2018 8:32 pm different starting spots matters what race !all times are good !may be wrong it was a 380 track ?

I have saw very few football players at fair so far this week. Except those showing animals and it may always rain for fair but this the biggest nastiest mess I remember seeing for a long time

Re: 2018 Gallia Academy Blue Devils Football Outlook
As it relates to the track being too small for a football field in the middle, I doubt it has to do anything with the eight lanes where the running takes place. I would imagine that the areas on the inside of the track where high jump, long jump, and pole vault take place are too big to fit a field in between. I may be wrong but this would be my guess if the "track" is too small to fit a football field in. But after last season I say 7-3 or 8-2 is reasonable expectation for this team.

Question for Blue Devil faithful. Does Gallia have a 2nd grade football team? and if so does anyone know the coach, or contact info so we can see if the team would be available for a scrimmage, game etc. Any info would be great! Thanks!
