Thanks for the reply. I’ve seen just a few clips on wellston and it’s going to be a tough task for them. Ironton looks to be a step faster and probably bigger.countywide35 wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 2:01 pmwobycat wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2019 1:17 pm Does anyone know what wellston brings to the game? I know what ironton has. What kind of offense and defense do they run? Who’s their top players?
Cat...….the golden rockets will be coming down 93 S with a few weapons that could cause the fighting tigers some minimal issues....however em fighting tigers allow the golden rockets to hang around and be in the game they could cause some issues that Ironton doesn't want to have deal with in week 1 of the post season...Wellston has a nice QB in RJ Kemp that can both run and throw the pigskin...…he has a nice tall athletic WR in Hunter Smith,,,,,,Hunters dad was quite the FB/LB for Wellston way back when...….....the dad sure was a mighty fine fine football player and the apple didn't fall far from the tree.........in the backfield they have a combo of a thunder/lighting type duo.....the Garvin kid who plays the thunder part and plays it quite well.....kid has good size decent speed and runs the ball with authority downhill.....Wellston has true playmaker in their stud athlete Ryan Molihan…..he is the son of former Wellston standout athlete Nathan Molihan…..give the younger of the two Molihans the ball and he is capable of making something huge out of nothing.....kids a helluva athlete...

I'm just going to be satisfied with 1 more point than the rockets if the tigers do win. that's all that matters to me right now.

I feel like wellston will come out hot because it’s there first playoff game in a over 10 years but I feel like once that initial adrenaline wears off and the tigers get physical with them it starts to get out of hand

Hopefully, but probably not since it will be very cold and everyone thinks it will be a slaughter. Being that it is Wellstons 1st playoff game since 06 though may help.

Wellston typically travels pretty well. I could see them filling up the away stands if they can bare the cold.

Re: WK 11: Wellston (7-3) @ Ironton (9-1)
my friend. we cannot under estimate them. as you say. playoff game, festive atmosphere. the tigers need to be ready for trickery as well. because they may not be quite as physical as the fighting tigers are. but then again, they may be.MrFirstTake wrote: Wed Nov 06, 2019 8:40 am I feel like wellston will come out hot because it’s there first playoff game in a over 10 years but I feel like once that initial adrenaline wears off and the tigers get physical with them it starts to get out of hand
I know nothing about them.

their biggest win for my thoughts is a 7-3 Nelsonville York team who is always tough. they lost to the toughest 3 games on their schedule.

Jackson ,Athens, Vinton co. all 3 very tough teams that are bigger. no shame in that.
