The play before 24 Williams for Ironton pushed a Portsmouth kid down well out of bounds, he got knicked up on that. The next play the one in question you can see him push the same Portsmouth kid down from behind by the back of the head, also on the same play 15 for Ironton is seen tackling a different Portsmouth player by the head. Yes the Portsmouth player visibly frustrated tossed the ball at the Ironton player (not very hard) and it broke loose from there. 24 for Ironton can be seen throwing punches in said video. This garbage was occurring all night and not being stopped by the refs from what I’m told.ohbuckeye2 wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:34 pm
I don’t agree with the fighting, but the stop is what everyone is complaining about? Good grief, I went to three 7 vs 7’s that Ironton attended. I seen way worse stops than that at every one of them, against Ironton, other teams against other teams and so on.

Majority of the time they get cut short because of situations like this. If Portsmouth is really that upset over a 7v7 game they need to be ready to play week 10. I promise you ironton has moved on and is already preparing for burg and could care less about any 7v7 game or using it for fuel in week 10

A lot of the time they are but not always the norm, the ones I see you’ll get that style from the better teams. It’s kind of like watching teams that’s used to winning simply get after it more. Then you’ll watch a team who hasn’t been winning much and they’re sort of laid back. Some teams simply have more of an edge but being aggressive at a 7-7 is pretty normal for sure.ohbuckeye2 wrote: Tue Jul 23, 2024 1:13 pmDeny what? A) the first illegal non football act was committed by the portsmouth player when he threw the ball
B) the second illegal contact was committed by a portsmouth player after the ball was thrown at the Ironton player when a portsmouth player body checked the Ironton player.
C) Portsmouth isnt use to aggressive teams that play with an edge and portsmouths lil jimmys and jimmys mommy got upset by it
D).The portsmouth player that threw the ball at the Ironton player should likely face a week one suspension for his poor conduct.
E) Portsmouth coaching staff needs to create a more disciplined program.
Re: OVC 7 on 7
Visitor side video shows number 24 from Ironton throwing the first punch to the back of the head of Cameron Williams when the play started causing him to fall, Cameron was Portsmouth's freshman QB last year. Then you see in the same play a different Portsmouth player throw the ball in the face of an Ironton player, in contrast to the punch wasn't that bad but non the less still shouldn't have happened, following that you see the fight break out. So in the end you could say both parties are just as guilty.

Ironton is the Great Value version of Wheelersburg. Lots of the fan base living in the past. A big a$$ bus doesn’t give you street cred unless you’re from Lawrence County. This team like every one Ironton team as of late will live on weak teams and die on penalties come the post season. Good luck OVC teams minus IHS.

Ironton football doesn’t play in the OVC anymore. I guess you haven’t seen the Fighting Tigers schedule for this year have you? Re: OVC 7 on 7
This is a joke. Ironton player made a typical 7v7 play and the Portsmouth player was frustrated. Looking at this anyone that has spent time around a lot of 7v7 this was normal offense defense in space.
7v7 games are always physical and can tell that the Ironton kids have played in a lot of 7v7 games and expect defenders to set the tone with physicality and offense has to respond, sad to see that it escalated like that but definitely anyone coming after the Ironton kid is out of line that was a normal 7v7 play happens every 7v7. Should be a fun week 10 match up

This right here. I viewed the provided videos. The Ironton kid made a typical 7 on 7 play. The Portsmouth kids and apparently the parents as well are just not use to 7 on 7's or playing against programs as competitive as Ironton. They sound like cry babies.RJShifko wrote: Wed Jul 24, 2024 10:32 pm This is a joke. Ironton player made a typical 7v7 play and the Portsmouth player was frustrated. I spent a morning off taking a fam member to an appt with physician, and while waiting I was reading the football threads on this page. The jealousy of Ironton that I have read by fans of the other area schools is embarrassing for this entire region and has escalated to utter ridiculousness. My student athelete is new to the region and already we have observed how just putting on the orange and black and making the best decisions for us as a family, in this area, results in gossip and innuendo and straight up lies on this site by adults about underage children. Calling them recruits and creating narratives that suggest the child and that childs parents and the Ironton coaches have some nefarious conspiracy going all because whatever local school they are a fan of is not rising up to compete on Irontons level.ohbuckeye2 wrote: Wed Jul 24, 2024 9:18 pmIronton football doesn’t play in the OVC anymore. What is even more concerning is, it seems like the adults who run this forum not only approve of that conduct, but they also encourage it.
I will let you know, all that does is give us even more motivation to embarrass you and your kids and your school when we play you. To not only beat you, but to embarrass you and to rub it in. In just a few short weeks we get to light up the scoreboard and the plan is to plant the Ironton flag midfield at Ed Miller stadium in the same fashion that Baker Mayfield planted the Oklahoma flag at the horseshoe. Get pictures of the scoreboard before they scurry to blank it and plant the flag in the middle. Maybe even wipe cleets on Wheelersburgs logo. To get respect you have to give it and Ironton is angry, motivated, hungry, with a huge chip on their shoulders because they feel disrespected. Come week 1, we are gonna do some severe disrespecting of our own. Congrats to the other area teams we play. Your big mouth fans earned you the treatment you are going to get when you play The Fighting Tigers.

This post is almost as ridiculous as the people calling Ironton kids recruits and so fourth. Ironton will never rub cleats on the logo or plant a flag on the field. You win with class. You lose with class. The day something like this happens will be the day Ironton football dies.

Yeah I’m not sure I quite comprehend that post lol. I mean it’s all banter back and forth, I highly doubt people are that stressed about stuff they read online. That said how are you going to talk about feeling disrespected and it’s absurd for grown adults to talk a certain way and then literally talk that same way & say you’re going to plant flags & rub your cleats in logos. That would be Ironton coaches & parents teaching and allowing players to act classless, literally just what said poster wrote against lol. There’s bad blood with Ironton from almost every school around here, same can be said with Burg. When you’re good people don’t like you, when they beat you people don’t like you, when your players want to play for those schools, those schools recruit. Honestly would love for Portsmouth to get the attention and accusations of recruiting, that would mean they are winning games and kids want to play for them.
**Also, at the end of the day no matter what happened in the Portsmouth-Ironton 7 on 7 nothing came of it other than a fight on the field that ended quickly. I and other Portsmouth fans can feel a certain way about it, Ironton fans can feel it was just football. Both are okay, 7 on 7 season is over. They’ll meet week 10 to hash it out with pads on. But I’m sure neither team cares about week 10 right now, you’re looking at your next opponent. This is what happens when there’s not much to discuss, tempers flare over 7 on 7’s lol. Its ridiculous because you took it literally. That is the point. Everybody makes ridiculous claims about Ironton the super villian. I used an example of exactly the opposite of how Ironton carries themselves to illustrate just how stupid the narrative is. You're correct. It is ridiculous. Nothing worked against me, I’m content on where I stand. I think it was dirty, you and the Lawrence county fan boys don’t think so. That’s fine, like I said 7 on 7 season is over. I’m looking past this nonsense. Also I didn’t post any video squirt, and you’re an idiot.Jawnjkang98 wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 4:04 pmThis is passive aggressive. Reading back in the thread it was you attempting to create the false narrative simply because you're not accustomed to 7 on 7s and then when you posted the video it worked against you instead of for you.BuckeyeBlood wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 1:21 pmTigersGameDayFan wrote: Thu Jul 25, 2024 12:20 pm
Man I love football.
