So Fairland laterals about 3 or 4 times before the ball pops out. After the play there was a flag which we thought might have been an illegal forward pass as one was close to the Los. Apparently it wad some sort of personal foul or sideline warning after the play by Portsmouth, it was never clarified.

Fairland going for 2 for the win. Ball gets fumbled all over the field eventually the play ends. Phantom flag out of nowhere? I still don’t even know the darn call man, but it upstages a great freakin game. Refs should not be bigger than the teams but here we are.

So the call was sideline warning. It was an incomplete pass though, not a fumble. Ball is dead when it hits the ground after the pass, so they had to have called a fumble when it clearly wasn’t.

Man, after rewatching it that side judge was really determined to make that call stick, looked like a pretty animated official huddle.

Refs had to make themselves bigger than the game

30 yards from the play, one that was over because it was a forward pass and you throw the flag for sideline warning lol

Fairland went for two clearly a shovel pass that fell incomplete refs did not call incomplete ruled it a fumble somehow because of this a couple players from Portsmouth bench were already on the field side judge threw a flag for sideline warning which Portsmouth had already had one so this one was a penalty but shouldn’t have been if the play had been ruled correctly which was incomplete pass then the players leaving the bench would have been way after the incomplete pass as they didn’t get on the field until after the ball had been thrown around a couple times refs missing the call really made a bad situation then talking about it and still making the incorrect call made it worse a fan entered the field after the game and that’s why the refs were escorted by police to the locker room I can understand why frustrations were high and hate to see a great game end cause of a clear missed ruling

The only thing I wonder is if there was actually a whistle. If there wasn't that's kind of on Portsmouth because that dude was itching to hand out those sideline warnings all night.

So if it was really a fumble is it the right call?
